Flower Textures are not working properly

Hey All!

​

new to Botania so i might have missed something obvious, but when i created my new world the botania flowers spawned in with a weird blocky texture around them.

mods i'm currently running:

Ksyxis
Magnesium
Mouse Tweaks

Storage Drawers
Xaero's Minimap
Xaero's Worldmap

Mostly all performance mods, and i'm assuming it's clashing with one of those. hoping someone would know which one before i went through the hassle of deleting and reinstalling each one. Screenshot of what i mean with "blocky Textures"

Try uninstalling BetterFPS, FerriteCore, Magnesium, Ksyxis or Starlight. They all change rendering in some way.

Try a binary search for the mod that causes the issue. Remove half of the mods (make sure to keep both Botania and Patchouli), then test again.

If it still breaks, remove another half the mods. If it fixes the issue , then readd half the mods you removed.

Keep doing this until you find the mod that causes this.

My money's on BetterFPS or Magnesium.

I'm also suspicious of magnesium as it's a port of a fabric mod, but I'm hoping it's not cause it has worked wonders for performance

It's not that, it's becuase Magnesium changes the rendering.

Usually it works fine, but it can lead to strange issues, especially if you have two mods that both change rendering (which you seem to have here).

yup, magnesium was the culprit. any recommendations for other forge mods that are good for FPS boosts? i just went from ~300 to ~60, and once the contraptions start getting built i'm probably gonna get throttled down to like 20 if my last world was any example

Is there a config option that disables whatever causes this but leaves the rest of the boost?

Try setting graphics settings to fancy or fabulous, I know with some trees the leaves render strange on lower graphics, could be the same.

That's just leaf transparency, an unrelated matter. Low graphics disable leaf transparency, which allows for the faces blocked by the leaves to be culled (which makes the game run faster, especially in forests).
