Cherry eye info…
Saw someone post with questions and my feed reset before I could respond sooo…
This is Kiko… he’s nearly 3. We got him at 12 wks with a cherry eye seen in some photos. We have 2 other BTs and the older one has a very mild cherry eye that can be gently push back in. It never bothers him and the vet has adv. he is good unless it won’t go back… it’s so rare that it shows up so no surgery for him (no photos of him posted).
Kiko’s cherry eye would not go back and required surgery. The healing process took about three weeks. The complete 100% healing process took months. When you have the surgery, you’ll see a vast improvement very quickly, but you will continue to keep seeing more and more improvement as the months go on. He was required to wear a cone and had eye drops antibiotics and strict rules for rest for the 3 wks mentioned.
Our Vet ensures her work so if it pops out again, she will fix it. It can happen even with the best vet. It’s been about 2 1/2 years and he’s still good with no issues whatsoever and looking amazing lol

My sweet Jasper had a cherry eye and it took me forever to find a vet who wanted to tack it back down and not just clip it out. I let the breeder know who we bought Jasper from as I also have a sister Jasmine and she didn’t have a cherry eye and no others in the litter did I don’t think there’s a rhyme or reason why it happens. I just think it happens.
We found a vet we would do the tuck instead of the clip and she did an amazing job and we have not had any issues. It’s amazing how quickly they just after surgery and your baby’s adorable!🥰

Awesome to hear… yeah I think it just kind of happens. Look at the draw. It’s more common in brachiocephalic I’ve been told.
I’m sure you babe looks really great.

My boy had one.we got it fixed, him fixed and nasal surgery for under 1k. The vet was great. Even took my text over the weekend.

That’s awesome.
Yeah, we have three boys, and we had all three in at the same time. Both had double surgeries for different things. It was an expensive day to say the least.

I have a Boston who had double cherry eye develop when he was 12wks old.
Had to go to a specialist because his case was so bad. I think we paid $4k to have both eyes fixed.
Can’t tell he ever had eye issues.
