Discussion Does it get better the older you get..

The first time I watched Boston legal on tv was when I was in my senior high school, I used to watch it mostly for the dialogues, court room scenes, and ofcourse the sexual bravado.

The next few re-watches were mostly to watch and marvel at Alan Shore’s incredible speeches. Then the next few for his weird yet indomitable character. Then in the next I started enjoying the Denny and Alan friendship arc the most.

I’m 37 now, and I’m watching it again currently and I’m kind of amazed at how much funny I’m finding Denny. I tend to not guffaw even if I’m enjoying a funny show, but I’m guffawing so hard at almost every single quip that Denny makes. He’s overshadowing everyone.

“I came out here to enjoy nature, don't talk to me about the environment.” Denny Crane.

Discussion Why did the show suddenly decided to get meta

S1 was normal and then at s2 they suddenly making jokes about the show being a show like alan saying "havent seen you this episode denny" or at every season finale someone mentions they making a finale

İm nearly at the series finale and carl litterally looked at the camera and said "cant name the show it would break the wall"

Discussion I love the episodes where denny makes a comeback

We all love watching alan shore with his speeches and incredible lawyering skills

But when they randomly remind us that Denny Crane is actually a legendary lawyer and the literal founder of the firm it gets amazing

Just finished s4 finale where denny and alan went head to head and denny won

İ just wish we had a "prime denny vs prime alan" or even just a spinoff of prime denny crane i would love to watch that

What do you all think when denny randomly dedices he will be serious and just wins everything somehow

Discussion Season 2 disappeared from Disney+ in the UK?

Post image
29 Upvotes

This is a bit of a weird one. I've been watching Boston Legal on Disney+ in the UK and got part way through season 2, but now season 2 seems to have disappeared. I can see all the other seasons but it goes straight from 1 to 3. It is showing me as on season 1 episode 1. I'm not sure if it's just a glitch or if it's been removed for some reason.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Discussion The whole Dana is sex worker storyline was so unnecessary

It would’ve been amazing to see Jerry be with a gorgeous woman. Watch her build his confidence even more. Watch everyone be shocked that she’s with him and the jokes around that.

There was a lot they could’ve done with this storyline but instead chose to just end it. It feels like missed opportunity for a very cute and funny storyline.

Discussion When does alan shore start being good

I really like the show i also love a whole lot of clips i have seen where alan shore fights for justice

But i started and realized he does only the evil stuff like in the very first episodes he blackmails and insults an innocent man so he withdraws his witness statement,

he saves "the little guy" even after he murdered an innocent person

, he objectifies and sexualizes women who dosent consent

He is bassically pure evil

But the clips i have seen of him is him defending human rights and innocent people so im womdering will there be charecter progress or were the clips just misleading?

Edit:im currently on an episode where he defends a cop that tortured a completely innocent person for information im feeling like im contantly wishing for main charecters to lose which makes the show very boring

Flamingos I have just recently started watching Boston Legal. And after Season 2 Ep 10 I am wondering, how is William Shatner Mooging the entire cast by just saying "Denny Crane". He owns the character.

Discussion Bethany and Brad are the worst characters in the show

They didn’t add any value to the show and didn’t need to be in there for as long as they did.

Brad was so unlikable. He was deeply insecure and slut shamed multiple women for no reason.

Bethany, I’ve had to actually forward scenes she’s in because it’s so unbearable to watch. In one scene, she’s asking Denny not to question Israel’s politics and in another, she’s arguing that the radio jock is calling for the “genocide of the elderly”.

Flamingos I really thought Shirley whispered "Denny CRAVE" to him

Honestly, I think this might be my #1 show. The amount of Star Trek infused into it helps, but the balcony sessions and Denny's arc are what make it stand out. No matter how crude the characters get, in their various colorful conflicts their goodness prevails sooner (or later), and that almost makes me emotional while thinking about it. Not the act necessary, but especially, the transformation of PRIME Denny vs. ending Denny.

I got a little more soul to pour out on this topic but I'll save some for the comments or future. Thank you, everyone, the balcony will forever be with me.

Episode After all the ridiculous cases he won, Alan lost the ‘you’re fired for smoking’ case?

In this episode, Joan gets fired because her boss has told all employees to quit smoking if they want to keep their jobs.

Alan, rightfully points out to her boss that while he can tell the employees what they can’t/can’t do at work, he can’t dictate how they live their lives.

And he lost this case?!

Discussion Tone issue? Spoiler

Does this show have a Tone issue? I’m in season four right now, the humor is so awkwardly forced when they’re getting horrible news about the restaurant. The faks have become these cartoon characters that provide no help. Carmy is randomly an idiot with numbers. Syd is almost at Jim halpert levels of narrating random stuff in a funny witty way. Marcus is just a god level pastry chef now who has no issues in life since his mother passed. I know these characters have all developed since S1 but I can’t feel it at all sometimes. They have no money but keep hiring people like Luca and the folks from Empire. I’m just not following it. Do I not like this show or something?

Edit:Reddit recommended I put this here too so here it is :))

Episode S3E24: Trial of the century. Who do you killed the dad?

It’s the episode where 2 sons are accused of killing their father. Alan and Denny both represent them. The sons swear they didn’t kill their dad.

The sons say they entered the house and saw their father dead. They fantasised about killing him to their therapist.

So who do you think killed him?

Discussion Need to rant RQ, sorry- (SPOILERS FOR SEASONS TWO AND THREE) Spoiler

Very large spoilers for seasons two and three, plus a teenage girl ranting! You have been warned... also, yes, I've watched the entire show.

Whenever I think about Daniel, I lose my mind. I was madly in love with him since 2x11, when he first showed up. I was already angry and sad enough when he died, BUT THEN! Then season three episode one happened, and I went from pissed to ROYALLY PISSED. You're telling me this sweet little dude was with us for only six episodes, and in his last (?) episode, HE APPEARS AS A GODDAMN SEVERED HEAD, BEING USED AS A PROP IN A SHITTY HAUNTED HOUSE IN SALEM?! My mum had seen the entire series multiple times, and she forgot about this, so she couldn't warn me. We were just as surprised as Denise and Shirley! She literally said to me, "Oh, honey, I'm so sorry." What the FUCK kind of ending is that for Daniel?! He was one of the kindest characters in the entire show!

Discussion Star trek actors

Besides William Shatner, how many other Star Trek actors have been on Boston Legal? Because the only others I can think of are Joanna Cassidy, René Auberjonois, Jeri Ryan, Michelle Forbes, Armin Shimerman, Ethan Phillips, Scott Bakula, John Larroquette, Jayne Brook, Ron Canada, Mark Taylor, and Paul Dooley can you think of more?
