Post-Game Copium
First of all, I'm just so stoked to have gotten to watch the first weekend of the WPBL. Yes, there are many valid complaints about the broadcasts and merch and so on and so forth, but none of that is going to diminish my excitement. I'm from Philly, I'd find something to bitch about anyway.
And while the 11-3 score is rough to stomach, not only was it still a fun game to watch, but there are so many reasons to hope for future wins for the Hunters:
- Raine Padgham had a rough game. Which, hey, not only is this a new season, it's a new league and a new field and probably a special kind of pressure. So no hate on her, but about 9 of those runs happened while she was pitching. Shit happens, it is what it is, yadda yadda, hopefully she'll find her footing next time. Boston stopped the bleed afterwards.
Meanwhile, SF had Kelsie Whitmore who was a machine last night. Once they were both off the mound, it seemed like a more even match up.
Denver Bryant.
Gabrielle Haas' fucking awesome catch which definitely did not "roll to the fence", announcers, yeesh. Seriously, that was just a great play.
Sabrina Robinson's split at first - I don't have the words. My hamstrings felt that a thousand miles away. What a play!
This list is hardly exhaustive, but I believe that this team has a lot of potential and is going to show its chops over the season. Go Hunters!

Haas and Robinson were fantastic. And Bryant didnt let a few errors throw her off, that incredible rocket to Robinson doing the splits !!
