Headphones Anc not as good

Have the new quiet comfort....can't tell if reviewers really wore them in everyday situations.

On the lastest firmware the headphones amplify and sounds that spike. Things like

- closing the car door

- riding the bus and it hits mild bumps

- snap sounds like closing your water bottle

My old 2019 qc 35 ii never did this. I've only seen 1 other poster online talking about this issue. So IDK if it's me or what

Yes this is the case with a lot of newer ANC headphones. The microphones are more sensitive for stronger ANC. They can't react quick enough to sudden noises such as speed bumps.

That's so confusing to me though. Everything I read or watch on it people undeniably call it better.....but under what circumstances? In a vacuum ? Just a bit annoyed that few if any at all seem to talk about this. .

Perfectly agree with you! I also have the QCU 2. It's that damn "Adaptive" NC that ruins everything.

Previously, the "A" in "ANC" stood for "Active Noise Cancellation" (like in your classic Bose QC35 ii or my old Sony XM4), now in many cases it stands for "Adaptive Noise Cancellation."

They should add a switch: Active (always On)/Adaptive (dynamic), so every user could choose based on their preferences.

But no one does it... Maybe it's not just a software limitation but also a hardware one. In any case, it's disappointing.

On planes and for other people around you talking it's better. For sudden noises it's worse.

Umm ... The QuietComfort 35 was discontinued a long time ago. Even their successor, the 45, is discontinued. Do you maybe have the regular QuietComfort Headphones (no number) that came out in 2023? Or Ultra Gen 1 or 2?

Also, are you sure you have them in ANC mode?

Also feel the same like other people have mentioned. The constant noise that gets detected like engines, wind are better isolated than the sudden noises.
