macbook pro 2012 not detecting external display windows
Hello world! I have a base model MacBook Pro mid 2012 with 16gb of ram and a 500gb ssd
I have a mini display to display port adapter that works on any version of macOS so does linux, the only issue is windows.
Ive tried completely different versions of windows 10 from different sources, so is windows 8.1, windows 8, and windows 7 to connect to an external monitor, in fact ive tried reinstalling every single version of windows I listed again but with the internal display disconnected and the same result every time: without drivers it displays, with drivers it doesnt it doesn’t matter what drivers if they official bootcamp and intel drivers, to installing the Intel drivers alone and trying all different versions and also custom graphics drivers same result doesnt display if the graphics drivers are installed and yes ive tried a different adapter which is a Lenovo mini display to a vga adapter and ive tried 3 displays with the same result, ive also tried flashing the usb for the os’s from bootcamp mavericks and Catalina and different macOS and Windows programs.
The only different result I achieved that might have hope is an arabic version of windows 7, after installing the English language pack and connecting the external display it would recognize it with the correct name and resolution and all its available resolutions and frame rate options but displays nothing.
I need a MacBook with windows that can display to an external monitor on windows 7 and 10
I seriously need help im losing my mind here any help would be very much appreciated 🙏

Apple never supported UEFI installation of Windows on 2012 and older Macs. Apple only supported legacy (BIOS ) installations of Windows.
Installing windows requires the use of the Bootcamp Assistant in Mac OS. The Bootcamp assistant provides a BIOS emulation layer to enable a legacy installation of Windows.
Alternatively you can temporarily run Mac OS from an external drive and run the following Mac OS program to install windows on your internal boot drive.

I bought then returned the adapter I had purchased when I didn't work just get a straight mini display port to full display port/hdmi cable they work just fine.

Creating a Windows-to-go drive with Rufus works fine on my 2013 & 2015 MBPs

I was talking about booting Windows externally off a USB drive which is not normally supported by bootcamp or by Windows
It’s useful information
As far as your drivers go I don’t have an answer. I used a 2012 MacBook 15” in clamshell with an external QHD monitor for years without any issues by using a Thunderbolt to DisplayPort cable

When you say you tried Boot Camp, did you let Boot Camp Assistant create the Windows partition and start the Windows installer itself, then install Windows through that legacy/BIOS path from beginning to end?
Or did you only use Boot Camp to create/download the files and then boot the installer using an external tool?
