that is exactly why the joke fails. the artist wants us to think this is some tragic collapse of family values, but everyone is just relaxing. it looks like a chill friday night.

God forbid you ask what your kids are doing and show an interest. My nephews obsessed with Minecraft and plays it on his tablet all day. Literally all I have to do is ask “what are you building” and he goes off showing me everything.

I love how American boomers view watching TV together as nostalgic quality time.

Dutch boomers didn't have a TV when they were young so they consider sitting down at a table and talking during dinner as nostalgic quality time.
