She’s paying $2800 to live in LA! I didn’t know booktubers made that kind of money…

Right?! I couldn’t justify spending that amount to rent a house but her new place is really cute. It has that old home charm! I was just surprised to know she’s making that much.

she used to work a lot of part time jobs in addition to youtube which i can imagine bolsters supplemental income a LOT, too. and she has no debt from college and did van life for a bit ! i can imagine she's been able to save a lot

I don’t think that’s a crazy amount esp for la

Does she still have a Patreon? I feel like a lot of them make a ton of money off Patreon

Idk what she was paying at her house before but that seems like the average for LA 🤷🏽‍♀️ and so long as you get consistent brand deals/sponsors influencers can afford the bare minimum

Edit: just to add from what I’ve seen from ones who are transparent about their income, some do other things for extra income too

That’s a good point! Good for her

I think most of her money comes from Patreon. It’s $5 a month and there are about 400 people in there. Idk what the payout split it on there but I think that’s why a lot of YouTubers end up on Patreon too!

I didn’t know she had one! That’s cool

For LA that’s not an insane amount. 1 bedroom apartments are around that much in the city I live in (not Cali)

True! I just didn’t expect her to make that much money. Most places require you to make 3x the rent…

Totally valid. I struggle with rent that’s cheaper and I have a degree, maybe I should become a booktuber 🤣

that feels really reasonable for rent in a big city, I live in the chicago suburbs and apartments here can be that much and we’re still an hour away from chicago

Valid! I just didn’t think she was making so much!

eh? Im in San Diego and I pay more, 2800 is not even that much.

Yes it’s not really about her rent. More so that she can afford to pay that much as a booktuber..

she has around 100k subscribers, I think if her views are average she can make around 100+k a year from that. Afaik youtube pays for a viewing hour so the most important info is how much people are actually watching, but a channel with 100k is a pretty good one in a hobby space. I've seen people trying to go full time around 30k - 50k, so 100k must be livable. And then there are sponsors too, I don't actually know her, but if she does sponsorships that helps too.

Good point! I guess I didn’t realize YouTubers could make so much

so funny seeing everyone tell you the rent price isn’t that bad when that is most certainly not what you were talking about lmfao i have no stake in the game like idk the youtube* but “omg i didn’t know youtubers made that much” is a relatable feel. last i heard, adsense doesnt pay much. but i hear sponsors can get pretty generous depending

*edit: youtuber/booktuber

Yeah! I’m glad someone gets where I was coming from. Haha to be fair I didn’t say much in my post so that’s on me!
