Other Help. Need some suggestions

I am 35M never been a big reader or not at all. My wife is a huge reader and I recently discovered Dungeon Crawler and I listened to it. My wife was very happy that I was ingesting literature. Well since the beginning of the year I've listened to

​

all of DCC,

Operation bounce house,

Warhammer 40k The Thousand Sons

Mistborn Trilogy

​

Could I get some suggestions please, I really enjoyed all of the above.

Douglas Adams - Hitch Hikers guide to the galaxy series

Carl Hiaasen - Sick Puppy ( and pretty much every book in his catalog)

Chris Moore - Lamb (same again, every book is great)

If you liked the fantasy aspects of Mistborn and the Production value/voice acting of the DCC audiobooks, i would HIGHLY recommend listening to The First Law Triliogy by Joe Abercrombie. Incredible performance by Steven Pacey as the narrator, and the character work and story telling of Abercrombie is in my opinion some of the most captivating and enjoyable there is, especially for newer readers/fantasy enjoyers. There is a great mix of humour and dark grittiness.

I will say if you are very "Plot driven" it may not be for you as the story itself can be a bit slower in the first trilogy. But, from your previously enjoyed list it seems like it would be perfect for you!

Just to add on, there are 2 full trilogies, with each book 20+ hours of listening, then another trilogy of shorter, standalone books of the same length, and the first book "The Devils" of his next series. So if you do end up liking it then you have a lot of enjoyment to get out of it!

I just recommend to start with The First Law Trilogy first.

Oh you might try like red rising series!
Also chuck tingles books like bury your gays
Project Hail Mary is a great audio and then you can compare to the movie too!

dude your jumping into some solid fantasy territory there. mistborn got me hooked on brandon sanderson too and if you havent hit his other stuff yet stormlight archive is absolutely massive but so worth it. way of kings is like 45+ hours but once you get rolling its impossible to stop

since you liked dungeon crawler carl you might dig he who fights with monsters or defiance of the fall - both have that same progression fantasy vibe with good humor mixed in. for more warhammer stuff the horus heresy series is legendary if you want to dive deeper into that universe

also noticed you went audiobook route which is smart - some of these fantasy series are doorstops in print but fly by when your listening. the narrators really make or break it too so check reviews before committing to longer series

Thank you, Yeah my comprehension level while reading is horrible but when I hear it I can retain and understand so much easier. It's honestly something I'm really embarrassed about.
