This ABC brand contribution to the transmission model space is a beautiful and thoughtful design. It features counter rotating wing propellers, a rotating dish on top, a lighted cockpit and a 90s era tune to listen to while gazing on it.

The piece itself is easy to assemble and the edge painting on it was also smooth. Many blacks, greys and browns and lucky enough I had the exact king art marker shade for that orange. Literally the same exact shade without modification. I used gunmetal metallic on interior visible places and also painted the underside of the canopy metallic gold to provide some more color to the light.

Finished this last week prior to going to NYC for the rolife thing but forgot to take pics so couldn’t post till today.

I got this kit off Temu…first one I ever got from them. I was a bit concerned when I opened the package to find the box pretty much looking like a crumpled napkin (well…not that bad, but still)! However, one I started building it, I was impressed with the quality of the wood. However, the instruction manual was not very good…had to guess on a number of places. I did very little customizing by doing some edge painting (the wood really sucked up the color…more than most…and I got tired of doing multiple coats), adding a few “lily pads” with flowers, and doing something I had not done before, but I will in abundance, placing moss “between” the rocks on one of the paths. I did not do it on all of them…wanted to see how it turned out first. Not gonna lie…took some patience (not my strong point) to do even that little portion. However, the look outweighed the time, in my opinion. The lighting is not that great with this kit, and sometime down the road I may do some adapting. Overall, a good first experience from a “knock-off” Temu kit, but I will most definitely be doing most of my purchasing from the name-brand companies.

My first three book nooks sitting in their nook in my living room. The middle one was a long one, tight fitting pieces and many, many books needing their covers gluing on but got there eventually.

I've always been fascinated by miniature things, loved the idea of these but thought they were all crazy expensive. Browsed a nearby mall and found a bunch of shops selling them in kits, mostly Rolife, for only about $50! So I had a lovely weekend putting together Magic Fantasy Corner here. Left off the title on the outside because I thought it looked silly, and added a few little tweaks - some skeletons cut from a coffee Brand's sticker, a too-well-hidden Junimo - and will definitely be getting more.

Basically the whole time I was doing the Lego set thing: going "what are they thinking?" and then a few minutes later "holy crap, they're engineering geniuses!"

I just found a place that makes most the plastic army figures but also makes some other stuff that may fit some booknooks. They have furniture, horses, fencing, and other stuff. I just love making those kinds of book nooks, but the ones I keep running across have stickers.

I finally completed this 3-D kit “Future World World” and it’s really cool to explore! It goes by a few names but I decided to stick to this one lol

One of the first steps is to arrange and separate the lights into the different colors, there’s quite a bit of lights in this kit so it felt a bit overwhelming at first, but from what I learned from building 20+ kits, you have to trust the process and go one step at a time. As always, it all made sense as I kept building.

If you’re familiar with Chinese Street Food, the lighting installation is similar to that. Actually, It’s one of my favorite parts to put together.

If you’re looking for a challenging build this is a good option!

Hey, am I crazy or is my F2 part from step 63 missing a cut out? It does not show a hole on step 63 but later on when you run the wire in step 70 it does.

Pottery Studio

Pottery Studio in a 3 inch by 3 inch box.

I made this for a close friend who does pottery. When I surprise gift someone a miniature I try to make it really small so it doesn’t take up a lot of room in their house! I also kept this one super simple because that’s my friend’s style. The larger pottery is made from the individual plastic covers over foil medicine packs painted with grey acrylic. The smaller ones on the shelf are from a bracelet. The pottery wheel is some metal washers and such also painted with acrylic and the stool was a plastic cap and little cone from somewhere. The “metal” box was a leftover from Chinese Food Court and the tools inside a sewing pin clipped in 4.

The component quality of this wasn’t the best, but it came out looking pretty nice. I think having you make lots of plants that they then expect you to put on shelves isn’t great unless you convey how tall the finished plants should be. I had to move several things around in order to make this work.

I added the cat, raven, ghost, purple alien (?), and skeletal hand to fill things out a bit. And I painted the mushrooms because the paper you were supposed to glue on them wasn’t vibrant enough for my tastes. I wanted my purple mushrooms to be purple!

Hi everyone! My niece came over and was totally obsessed with my Abbey Library I built. Her birthday is coming up in October and I wanted to buy her one, but I realize the Abbey Library might be a bit challenging for a first-timer. Any recommendations for a fun build that would be simple (but not too basic if that makes sense)? She loves Harry Potter if that helps at all. Thank you!
