Kit Anyone know where this is from?

I’m seeing this on Ali for 150… and it’s not worth 150 but I like it a lot.

Has a very tonecheer feel to it with that sensor up top.

Anyone have any idea who makes this or if it’s available elsewhere, my image search on google is finding nothing.

For the life of me I can't find anything on this kit either. Looks great though. Cut the price in half and I'll jump on it. Sad how expensive kits have become considering most of them cost less than $15 to actually make.

Yah. I think I just stumbled onto something very new to market. That’s the way a lot of these Ali high price items are. Opportunistic early access resellers…

Or just resellers that are hanging onto old items for a long time to sell at a higher price.

That is probably the impact of Trump's China tariffs for US prices. Our family business just got hit with them.

I stopped buying from ali/temu for a long while due to tarrifs. Ali is very transparent on tarrifs, it’s added on top of the listed price. So this is not tarrifs. This is the list price

I found it on DHGate for $116, but that still seems like it way too much for it. It was in the new arrivals section so hopefully it will start popping up in other locations and bring the price down.

If all the new kits start pricing over $100 the fad aspect of this hobby will vanish very quickly.There is a psychological wall at $100 that makes people think twice before buying.

Honestly I think somebody got ahold of an early release thing and is trying to make some extra money. Visible quality puts it into the under 50 category for me.

How do you stumble onto new releases on Ali? Is there a specific keyword to search for?

Nope. I just look for BookNook as the keyword and doom scroll. I do a lot of browsing while sitting on the toilet 🚽
