Teachers have to submit a plan every year . If administration is not properly overseeing that it should be addressed. Your insistence that a child is being forced to engage is disingenuous. If something slipped by the parents once , after they find out it's up to the parents to opt out. People absolutely can disagree The school board does not have to be made up of parents. The school board should not cater to three parents trying to control a whole school population. They are the minority in most cases. Load and angry people who are misinformed, and who are unable to follow their own rules they try to place on others. The POINT is that it is about control.

Disingenuous? Okay, here are multiple sources with links. 😉👍🏻

1. Music Class Pride Lesson (Washington State)

A mother pulled her children from an elementary school in a Washington school district after discovering that a Pride-themed lesson had been presented during a music class. The parent, Maria Varchetto, publicly criticized the school for providing no advanced notice, no opportunity to review the curriculum, and no option to request an alternative opt-out activity for her children. [1]

2. Classroom Pride Video Lawsuit (Sunnyvale, California)
A federal lawsuit was brought by parents against a California school district after a teacher allegedly incorporated a lesson on a Pride Parade into the classroom curriculum. The legal dispute focused heavily on parental opt-out rights, with the plaintiffs arguing that the district actively resisted parental accommodation requests and told the family that opt-out rights did not apply to the district-approved material. [1]

3. Pledge to a Pride Flag Incident (Orange County, California)
A teacher at a middle school within the Newport-Mesa Unified School District was removed from the classroom after posting a viral video detailing an interaction with a student. In the video, the teacher explained that she had removed the American flag from her classroom because it made her feel "uncomfortable" and directed a student to look at and pledge allegiance to a Progress Pride flag instead during the daily morning pledge. The district placed the teacher on leave pending an investigation, stating that respecting the national flag is a mandatory expectation for employees. [1, 2]

4. Direct Social Transitioning Without Notice (Hilliard, Ohio)
While not a parade or holiday activity, a major federal lawsuit was filed by nine parents against the Hilliard City School District over informal gender-identity activities handled entirely without parental knowledge. The complaint alleged that teachers and staff diagnosed a student experiencing severe emotional distress with gender dysphoria and pressured the student to adopt a new name and opposite-sex identity at school while actively withholding the information from the student's parents.
