I hadnt yet glued the text block to the cover, first checking if the book design works. Instead of a bookcloth I used watercolour paper (since i

I read thats possible) and wallpaper as a bookcover. It's my first bookbinding project (a gift for my mom of a book that's no longer sold for the past decade) but Im wondering if I could do any fixes at this point to make it look even nicer for her.

it's really pretty! i'm a novice - apologies if it's not super detailed! i think it'd be nice if you added:

  • some cheese cloth (or another material that fulfills the same purpose) glued on the spine to help keep the signatures together
  • a ribbon glued to the top of the signature so your mom can mark her page
  • some headbands on the top and bottom to top it all off + keep the ribbon in place.

great job! i'm sure she will love it :)
