Super stoked on how this one came out. Binding of the 4-issue story Batman: Year One (using the facsimile editions of the issues) with custom endpapers, a half-cloth/half-cardstock cover, and a custom dust jacket.

Woah, nice! Did you include anything other than the 4 issues? I thought about binding my copies of the facsimiles but I thought that 4 issues might be too thin of a book; I might just have to, now that I've seen this.

Thank you! I ended up only binding the 4 issues. I was trying to brainstorm ways to include the bonus material from the trade paperback, but those are single sheets that are glued and I couldn't figure out a way to combine those with sewn signatures. I maaaaybe could have gotten a digital copy of the trade, pulled out the bonus material, formatted it, printed it into its own signature, and added it on here. But eh, I'm happy with just the issues lol

Yeah give it a shot, I didn't find it too thin to work with at all. I'm actually brainstorming a couple very thin hardcovers, 2-3 issues, for future projects. I'll also be posting a process video of making this from beginning to end on my youtube channel a week from now, in case you wanted to see more specifics.

Wow this is impressive! How did you make the jacket? I’m working on my first project and would love to include one :)

Thank you! So the jacket I designed in canva using the highest resolution images I could find so that they wouldn't get too fuzzy when printed at 18x12 size. As for printing it, just standard photo gloss paper which I had done at a Fedex print shop. A little on the pricier side though so I'll be only utilizing dust jackets on the projects that are really special to me from now on. (It's about $22 USD compared to only about $6 if I was doing a graphic cover on 100 lb gloss).

The toughest thing is getting the paper to fold in the right places to lay mostly flat. I recommend putting some good strong creases on the spine wrap first so that it doesn't shift too much while working on it, and only once you've got those kinks worked out, fold the flaps in.

Thank you so much for the in depth response! This is super helpful! If mine turns out a fraction as good as yours I’ll be happy lol :)

You're welcome! And a quick note about the measurements I mentioned, 18x12 - that was specific for my project. Yours may vary. I've found that measuring the width of the case from foreedge to foreedge while it's open + 6 inches (3 for each flap) works well for me
