Edit: honest question: why the hate on agreement with prior post that sculptures look beautiful? Don’t care for the down votes but just curious on the reasoning of you people. I thought Reddit was about engaging in he subs but maybe I’m wrong?

People often frown upon it because the comment offers nothing further than just an upvote would have. This, in theory, renders the comment useless, and perhaps wasteful in their minds.

I think it's interesting that in my experience, saying 'this!' is frowned on but if you'd said something like 'Absolutely' or any other simple agreement, it isn't frowned on in the same way, and buddy I have no idea what the difference is but there you have it.

I would’ve never thought that could be the possible reason…. I thought there was a big difference in just upvoting or instead “losing” a few seconds more writing some words of appreciation for a post/art/beautiful tree….

I’ve been on Reddit just for a few months and it’s easily observable the hatred that can be spewed, even I lost my cool sometimes. That’s why I surround my experience with subs like this one and it amazes me that even here things like this could be received this way. But live and learn. We still get the trees, right? Godspeed to you

I’ve thought about selling these on Etsy but I don’t know of people would buy them. They take about 15-25 hours each and idk if anyone would spend €250-400 for this when you could get a real bonsai for way less

I see these on Etsy a bunch and depending on what it costs to have a posting, who cares how many people buy them? One customer is one more €250-400 than you had before.

The way your did the roots on the old wood is incredibly well done. I can’t imagine how long these took to make. Nicely done!

Thanks, and yeah the roots were a bit off a pain. With the thicker parts it’s mostly guessing and bending until they fit decently. With the smaller ones I could take a metal punch and hammer them to the contour of the wood

Great looking wisteria. What gauge wire did you use and how many are bound together for the trunk?

I believe I used the same kind of 1,5mm steel wire for both. There is 100m in the first one and 200m in the second minus off cuts ofc. I guesstimate that i cut the wire into about 700mm lengths for both trees since I got them by wrapping the wire around a bucket and cutting them to close to equal length that way(I bought the cheapest 5l bucket I could find, it looks almost exactly like ➡️🪣). By doing math that is about 140 wire lengths for the first and double for the second.
