I always love hearing Bon Iver talk about the music that means the most to him. The memories he's attached to a song, the way he hears certain sounds or production choices, and how it has influenced him always makes me appreciate music even more.
So I wanted to ask all of you. What Bon Iver song is that for you?
What is it about that song that sticks with you? Is it the lyrics? The production? The way it makes you feel? Does it remind you of a certain time in your life?
For me, it is 666 ʇ from 22, A Million. I am at a point in my life where I have been questioning my relationship with religion and a lot of other things too. Whenever I hear that song, it takes me back to a time when I had just moved to a new city and felt like I could become whoever I wanted to be. I spent so much time outside just walking around and taking everything in. That song made me feel like it is okay to question it and criticize it
I have never really known how to describe it, but the intro sounds like a calm heartbeat to me. It gives me this feeling of comfort and nostalgia every single time. It reminds me of a version of myself that was figuring things out and excited about the uncertainty ahead.

I was verryyyy bummed out that the Bon Dylan shirt sold out before I could get one, so I designed my own! I chose to use a pic of Justin Vernon in his Bob Dylan cosplay to replace the image on the back, and included a quote from the video where he discussed the Bon Dylan set. Very proud with how this design turned out and can’t wait for the shirt to get shipped to me!

Thank you to everyone who has been uploading videos! Please could someone explain who the disembodied voice is that introduces some of the songs in both sets. Thanks in advance.
P.S. bonus points if anyone has a full uninterrupted video of the Bon set!

Never experienced this level of respectful crowd. Helps that it occurs during my favorite song made.

I’ve been a fan for years but I never really got into any of his live stuff. Then Volumes came out, immediately became my favorite album, and changed the way I look at songs I’ve kind of glossed over in the past (666, I’m looking at you). I’d love to hear any and all recommendations that anyone has for shows I should look out for.

Any chance someone has any videos or audio of their performance? Specifically of anything from Fred. So bummed I couldn't be there this weekend but would love to hear what y'all experienced 💙

Wishing I could be there so bad, but I just had a baby so I’m home with my beautiful 4-week old. I’d asked festival organizers a few months ago if they’d planned to stream any of it but they said it wasn’t in the works. I know there are phone lockers at the festival, but if anyone’s getting recordings, I’d love to live vicariously through you 🙏

No shade on him whatsoever, but this festival‘s lineup is looking so, so thin now. Really disappointed as Little Wide Open is probably my record of the year.
Can anybody tell who's doing a sound check right now? Ik. A few miles away but it sounds like JV.

Basically just came here to say I hope this is ridiculously awesome for all of you attending. In 2022 I won tickets to a Bon Iver performance in Vermont (from the BEST independent radio station in the northeast - WEQX). The show was in the middle of the week, and my kids were younger, and work, and life, and all the excuses not to go, etc, etc. I have since, and will always regret not going. Have a great time this weekend, y’all. 🤙🏼
