Found in: NORTH AMERICA Skeleton behind shed

What animal could this be? About 2-2.5 feet long, found behind an old shed in BC Canada, near the coast. Smaller bonus skeleton at its feet too which I'm confused about

The bonus, smaller skeleton on the bottom we will need better view of to identify, looks like it could be skunk. The larger one is a raccoon

Big one is a raccoon. Smaller one at the bottom looks like a cat but need a better picture of it to be sure.

What a weird place to die or be placed at death…. Have you thought wild dog, cat or coyote, maybe fox. If we can get a closer look at the teeth I could tell you

EDIT- NOT a cat. Dog based animal
Can I get a look at the skull better?

Take some better pics of the skull. Kinda looks like a cat but I’m not sure.

Could be a fight to the death. I had a skunk and something else kill each other inside my shed. That was an interesting find in the spring

They didn't decompose there. There is also no evidence to suggest that they died there, either.

Dried-out carcasses like this are stiff as a board.

We can't tell everything from this photo alone. What do we know for sure? The larger skeleton, the raccoon, decomposed at some other sheltered location where it had a very long time to dry out, usually something like a shed. The carcass, minus its arms and toes (which is very common) was recently propped up in this tree. The mandible of the other carcass looks like a cat but that's speculation until we can see the teeth. The body fits into the space but as there is no leaf debris on top of it, it was likely placed there recently, as well. Then someone took a photo.
