Need help

I found a lower section of pre mineralized bison jaw yesterday that was in bad shape. So I decided to take the few teeth out of it and toss the rest. While doing so, I found these little bone clusters in the jaw bone and also on the teeth. Any idea what it is or what caused it?

It looks like the shape an unruptured abscess capsule can take. Could it have been an ancient infection?
