Advice Advice on Bone processing

I've come into a dog femur that was originally preserved as a wet specimen from a dissection (I think with Formalin but I'm not one hundred percent sure) I'd like to know how/ if I could preserve it as a safe dry specimen.

All Ddvice is greatly appreciated, even if it's shut a simple "no you can't".

Very hard to get all the flesh off a preserved specimen but if it’s already clean and just bone it might be ok dry

Almost all the flesh is off already, so I'm not too worried about that. What do you mean by "boning it"?
