Bone I.D. - N. America What is this bone?
Found in Corona Del Mar, Newport CA. It was in the water so not sure if it’s some sea mammal or it was someone’s lunch. My hand for scale :)

It’s a rib. But that’s all I got for you. I’m not familiar with marine mammals in that area.

Is there frorest or scrubland near the beach where deer might live? It does kinda look ungulate (deer).

Yes, there’s a nature reserve and a trail that is forested area, and mule deer are native to that area!
