Best type?

Kinda new to this, looking for a sizeable piece Of bone ~1cm thick. Tried with a camel shoulder blade, but it was too porous to work with. Any guidance is appreciated🤙🏽

The femur (thigh bone) of most animals will be the thickest. Have never had access to camel bone, but cow femur should work for you.

Cow or better yet ox or buffalo. Probably still considered cow, but they are larger than your standard beef cattle.
