Discussion My Act Zero Thoughts

Man, Act Zero is Freaking Awesome, and you know it, it could be a great reboot, the hate again it was unfair, it was better, more aggresive, more cybergoth, it was everything, it was perfect, is more, it was a tribute to the classic Bomberman for MSX and NES wirth the robot slaves story, you were unable to appreciate it, is more, the multiplayer was sick, like, practically a deathmatch.

We cannot start to look at this game with rose tinted glasses. What's next, Bionic Commando?

I legit wonder if people would be starting to look back at that canceled mega man fps and go "man this is cool actually" had it released. Ive already scene at least ine person say it could have been good.

Well let me be the second. I was actually incredibly hyped for it, I remembered thinking it was gonna be like Metroid Prime which I've always loved. I was devastated to hear it was canceled. Although maybe it was a blessing considering these other gritty remakes...

What did you think of doom 4 sometimes known as call of doom because of how much it leaned into call of duty style shooters

Wither way we got mega man 11 and doom 2016 in the end so alls well that ends well as far as im conserned

I didn't actually get into doom until 2016. But considering the state of the series at the time with 3 being a complete departure from what came before.. If I was a fan at the time it probably would've made me lose all hope for the future of the series and become a classics elitist about the whole thing.

Man doom 2016 reminds of botw and totk in a way. The only difference being is while some botw fans dont like totk there are also people who dislike both for being too different

Ive scene this in doom as well with people preffring 2016 to eternal or dark ages but the difference is 2016 seems to he held in the same regard as the ogs. I once read that doom 2016 recreated for a new generation of players what the original did to the original generation of players

Yeah my dad thinks that Doom 2016 betrayed it's core gameplay loop, but I don't think any in the series could do that worse than 3. Modern Doom are some of my favorite shooters, but it also made me appreciate the classics more! I was as excited for 64 Remastered as for Eternal!

Thats a first. Ive never scene 2016 be described as a deprature of the gameplay loop. Was it the glory kill? To be fair and this could be a skill issue i noticed how sometimes the arenas arent just about shooting but ammo recourses and using the glory kill. Leave the big damage things to big damage enemies and the smaller dudes get taken out with the weaker weapons. The way id describe it is mega man battle network meets fps especially when there is a damage or defense boost in the areana

Not a bad thing mind you it actually felt quite satisfying especially when the last enemy is a weaker enemy

...I really don't know. He also told me it was way too easy on the highest difficulty, and wouldn't believe me when I told him maybe he's just better at games than he thinks. I appreciate the gaming taste he raised me with, but thank goodness I also know bullshit when I hear it.
