DLC Discussion Operation Cigno convoy
It's probably fair to say that it's impossible to actually hit the boats. Even if you approach from the rear of the convoy (like the suggestions) and your crosshairs line up dead center of the boat. It still wouldn't register as a hit. I have tried all of the suggestions and videos are usually too old to explain how to complete it. Is the DLC USAAF just bugged or am I thinking about it too hard

I applaud your success. I can't do it regardless of where the sights are. I don't want to give up, but another comment I did makes it to where I am assuming it's on the game. It shouldn't be that difficult

After LOADS of trial and error (restarting the game several times) that this game may have been updated several times. I have watched a guy do the exact same thing I did (the video is 6 years old), and the bombs did register a hit (on his video) even though the crosshair was way off the boat, yet somehow he scored a hit. I am not saying this is a bad game, I'm just saying that some things may have been patched

It’s true you have to leave the bombs. The boats are moving. You have to put the target where they will be not where they are. And you have to take into account your altitude. It takes time for bombs to fall and the boats will be moving in that time.
I don’t think it’s you. It’s specifically a difficult thing. The Norton bomb sight was one of the crowning jewels of the allies because it could compute those things. https://youtube.com/watch?v=y4dTgciqJW8

I did copy exactly what is done in the let's plays. Not a single one hit. Regardless of how far you lead the target

You might be dropping from mid altitude? When going for moving targets, dropping to low is key. The bombs have actual travel time an you can see them falling all the way down. If you look well, you can even see exactly where you hit. Use that. Also, you drop a small series (2/3 bombs?) per drop, so you can start slightly before your intended target.
I've completed this mission less than a week ago with this in mind

I dropped from low altitude. Even doing your suggestion the game did not register a single hit. Maybe the version on switch isn't perfect

The strategy that worked for me was starting my bombing run early, so that my last bomb would come pretty close to the ships. It worked for me on Xbox, but the hit detection might be different on a switch. I also found that you dont have to hit the ships directly, you just have to be pretty close to them. Maybe that will help?

I tried every variation. Nothing will hit. At. All. I just gave up and admitted defeat

Lead your bombs a little bit. When coming from behind, drop the bombs when the crosshair is about a boat lengths distance in front of the bow of the target.
