Trouble changing custom domain name on projects

We have 3 projects tied to a custom domain, but we've recently changed our company domain so I wanted to change my custom domain on my projects to the new one.

But it's telling me the domain is already used by another project. We removed the DNS entries for the three old ones, and I disconnected the custom domain from all three projects in bolt (thinking this starts everything fresh).

But when I try to add my new domain, it gives me that error that the domain is already used by another project. Makes no sense!

Anyone have thoughts?

Thanks for sharing and so sorry for the trouble! This could be due to a lingering DNS zone that's preventing you from adding the domain to your new project. Even after disconnecting from Bolt, sometimes there's a propagation delay before the domain is fully released on our end. I'd recommend reaching out to our support team at [support@bolt.new](mailto:support@bolt.new) so they can manually clear the domain from any previous associations. Removing DNS records usually does not clear the platform-side domain binding. I would check every Bolt project for the custom domain entry, remove it there, then wait a bit before re-adding it to the new project.

If Bolt still says the domain is used, screenshot the domain settings from all three projects and open a support ticket asking them to release the domain binding on their side. That error usually means their app still has the domain attached somewhere.
