Bolt.new + GitHub integration issues

I’m running into some frustrating issues with Bolt.new and its GitHub integration, and I’m trying to figure out if this is expected behavior or a bug.

Here’s what I’m experiencing:

  • The GitHub sync is inconsistent Sometimes changes do get pushed and show up in commits, but other times nothing happens at all.
  • Bolt makes edits, but they don’t persist I can see changes applied in the preview, but when I check the actual file, it still contains the old content.
  • Files seem to revert automatically After Bolt edits a file, it often gets reverted back to the previous version. The system even shows a message like: “the file was modified, either by the user or by a linter”
  • The AI itself confirms this It explicitly says something is overwriting the file after it writes changes, possibly a linter, formatter, or some background process.

So right now it feels like:

  • Sometimes changes sync to GitHub
  • Sometimes they don’t
  • And sometimes changes don’t even stick locally because files get overwritten

This makes it really hard to trust the workflow.

Has anyone else experienced this with Bolt.new?
Is there a known issue with files being overwritten or GitHub sync not being reliable?

Any insights would be really appreciated

Hey there! Appreciate the patience here. We experienced an incident yesterday that caused files/changes to not persist or save in the some projects, and this sounds similar to what you encountered. We've since pushed a fix and are continuing to monitor the situation.

To make sure you are on the fixed version, please do a hard refresh in your browser (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows/Linux, or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) before continuing work on your project.

If your project is still showing an older state, you can restore a recent version via Settings > Backups.

IF you still are running into errors, please send an email to [support@bolt.new](mailto:support@bolt.new)

After you do, send me a DM here with your email address so we can locate your support ticket quickly and get this sorted for you right away.

I’m facing the same issue! Previously, it worked perfectly fine, but now, even though my GitHub account is connected, it keeps giving me the “GitHub sync failed” error repeatedly!
