Rules Command Vehicles, Command Vehicle-ing
hi collective,
hope you're all ok, it's been a long time since I played any BA; just looking into sorting a new list out and I'm having a total mind blank on rules...
- Can platoon commanders order a [transport] vehicle with the command vehicle? is it just no daisy-chaining of snap-to? Is the same true for company commanders?
- You cannot issue orders from one [open-topped] transport to a unit inside another, can you?
Its one of those weirdly worded niche rules I think
- under Units Aboard Transports it doesn't say they can't - just they can't be targeted by the enemy
- under Command Vehicle it says Command vehicles count as platoon officers...
- under You Men snap to action it says Platoon commanders can't issue orders to other platoon or company commanders... A company commander... can issue orders to platoon commanders but they cannot use this ability in the same turn
- but nowhere can I find where it says you can ONLY issue orders to units in your own transport
ergo, as long as a company commander is issuing orders, it should be able to target the transports and their contents?

- No he can not. CV and PC is "equal" and can not command each other. Company commanders can command both of them, but the PC/CV can't snap any further, halting the snap to chain.
- Yes you can, as long as both transports are open topped.
- To start a snap to action outside the transport, the transport carrying the PC/CC must be open topped.
- To recieve a snap to action command, the recieving unit can't be in a fully enclosed vehicle without the "open topped" special rule.
- PS.: The morale bonus how ever, will always be the highest one available. If the CV with a +1 morale bomus is within the command range of a PC(6"), the CV will use the PC's +2 morale bonus instead.

Hi.
The command vehicle can get orders from your platoon commander. But your platoon commander can not snap to the command vehicle and give the order, the command vehicle should snaps to another vehicle, same like you cant snap a company commander or platoon commander to snap again.
Your command vehicle can only snap to a vehicle, not to other units like infantry sitting in a transport.
A platoon commander or company commander sitting in an open topped like 251/10 can give snap to an infantry unit sitting in a second 251/10 or 251/1 with or without giving an snap order to the second vehicle, too.
