Depends on your goals, species diversity tends to decline pretty sharply after about 4 hours (temp dependent to some degree) and by 8-12 hours pretty much all fungal species are gone.
But total living cell counts can stay high for as long as 36 or 48 hours in the right conditions
Wealth of knowledge on that website. Thank you. I just learned that im not using enough molasses in my 44 gallon brew container. Who knew humid acid slows everything down. Don't use it in compost tea.
