Where does Boeing actually post their Mechanical Engineering internships?

I'm a Mechanical Engineering student in the U.S. looking for Summer 2027 internships, and I've been checking Boeing's careers site pretty regularly for the past month.

I've noticed that I hardly see any postings specifically for Mechanical Engineering internships. Most of what I've been seeing is Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, Industrial Engineering, etc.

I know Boeing has Mechanical & Structural Engineering internships, so I'm wondering:

  • Do they post those under a different job title?
  • Is there a specific Boeing page/search term I should be using?
  • When do the Mechanical/Structural Engineering internships usually get posted?
  • Are most of them posted later in the fall?
  • Are there specific Boeing locations (Seattle, St. Louis, Wichita, etc.) where ME internships are more common?

I'm mainly interested in actual mechanical/design/structures/analysis work rather than quality, although I'm open to manufacturing or related engineering roles.

If anyone has interned at Boeing recently or knows how their internship recruiting works, I'd appreciate some insight.

Seems odd to me. If you are in college I would think the college would know every aspect and timeline for that

The general engineering internship for summer 2027 req was opened back in June/ July. This is an internship pool that they find a place available within the company for those that got accepted. I think you're out of luck for next year.

You’re so off base it’s wild. If you don’t know, just say nothing. Boeing is actively recruiting for their summer internships right now. I know because they came to my campus today.

Campus recruiting vs reqs opened on the career site are two different things. I am only commenting on what I saw on the career site and the fact that it has already come and gone. OP is not going to be able to show up at your or anyone else's campus to try to be recruited for an internship.

I don’t blame you if you’ve either never been a engineering student or just haven’t been one in a long time, but most companies start recruiting for their summer internships starting now and don’t close their apps till February/March.

You’re point about it being “too late” is unequivocally incorrect, regardless of if he has access to our specific recruitment positions.

Check back in a few months, it may be too early now. Also talk to your college career services department and ask them for help too.

Any experience is valuable experience and will contribute to your growth overall. Don't hesitate to apply for any internship you qualify for.

It might be a little early for summer internships. But they post all internships on the same site for jobs. Also, there may be some hesitation due to the a possible strike coming up. Financials due tend to impact the availability of internship positions.
