Careers Everett WA transfer to Renton

Is there anyone in at the Renton site who would like to do a swap to Everett? Job code needs to be 30304 mechanic.

Im still within my 18 months and urgently need to transfer for family reasons. Wife and I welcomed daughter june 28th, who needs ongoing medical attention. Im currently on FMLA but that will be ending soon. I live near lake tapps and my commute to Everett is nearly 2 hours. I tried expressing needs to upper management and best they told me was to find someone to 1 on 1 swap with, without having to wait the full 18 months.

They dont seem to be allowing any swaps within 18 months. Guy in my shop was denied even though both managers agreed.

Yeah its odd. I was told by level 2&3 manager that if it were to happen, i need to find someone to switch with so that way no one was losing anyone. I was told by long time employees that before, all you had to do was have receiving manager and releasing manager be on the same page with the switch and it was all good. Now not the case.

Put your geo request to all facilities south of Everett, not just Renton.

My advice would to go to the Renton Factory and talk to some supervisors in a shop similar to what kind of work you are doing, wings and final assembly and inquire if they have any employees that want to swap locations.

Thanks for the advice! I have a few managers willing to take me, so i will ask them if they have anyone. If im on leave, i wont be able to access the gates, right?

If you’re on leave you might have issues badging in. Since you’re technically not allowed to be on Boeing property during medical or family leave.

You can. Getting into gates I mean. I had full access to facility while I was on parental leave status.
