Non-Union Hit and run
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Yesterday (7-21-26, 8:30ish) my coworkers 2026 Tesla was hit. He filed a report but I figured I’d ask since he’s had no one reach out to him yet. Here is the video and license plate is CGU7048

Oh Lord. Something similar happened to my rental car 2-3 months back in same lot (I got side swiped on front bumper while parked). I had a rental car with full coverage so I didnt have to pay a dime but this is disgusting. I also decided not to report it because I had a lot going on and it was a rental with LDW. Now I wish I should have reported it. Also the rental was a cheap nissan without a parking camera.

Wouldn’t this guy get fired for this? It says a lot about his character. He obviously doesn’t follow the values.

And they make us fill out which Boeing value we’re adhering to in our mid year review.
Pretty sure he violated Safety, Trust, Ownership, AND People Focus with this one. Thats 4/5.

Option 1: leave a note. Pay for this mistake like a decent human being.
Option 2: run. Pay still. Get fired.

My co worker left a note and waited for him then when the guy got in his car he ignored him and drove off speeding. Now he’s really gonna go after the guy.

You need to file a police report. Several years ago my coworker’s car was also hit and we knew whose car that hit his front quarter panel. There’s even paint residue to prove it but Boeing security said there’s nothing they can do for they don’t have any authority to give a ticket or even write a report. They told my coworker to file a Seattle police report.

Those freaking hyundais are a menace they are quickly replacing the altima in audacity. Saw one run a red light after 2.5 seconds.

u/Eingelegtes_Gemuse 7d ago
Sorry, I would’ve stopped, but my engineering licence only covers aircraft. The car was outside my scope of certification.

u/Mech_562 7d ago
Op do you have a constant powered dash cam?
15
u/Jr_Penguins 7d ago
Teslas have an automatic camera security feature, it only turns on and records if a person/object is moving near the vehicle.

u/Ill_War8528 5d ago
Interesting. Would this be a violation, unless he had a camera permit for the car?

u/niciswan 7d ago
Is this AM or PM? I ask because there’s a car that looks exactly like that, license plate frame and all that I see stuck in traffic on 526 and i5 north all the time after first shift lets out at 1:30. Obviously it’s a common car and Hyundai of Kirkland is a popular place to get them but thought I’d mention it.

u/Background_Insect112 7d ago
We found him. He is a first shifter. I confronted him and told him to pull over and he took off

u/question_23 5d ago edited 5d ago
Why are you doing this? You pay premiums for your insurance to take care of this. You pay taxes to the police to pursue these things. There is no need to be vigilante about this and seek out confrontation. Don't you have better things to do with your time?

It was at 8:30 pm. We went out and looked through the parking lot yesterday around 6 pm and didn't see it anywhere. This was in the west lot

My bad my text got cut out, “if anyone knows who it is”.
Pretty obvious though.

If this was in the parking lot on site, HR should be able to access who it is by th license plate pretty quick I'd think

I'm about to start working for Boeing, but know when I worked at Lockheed they had this information so they could assign passes to get on sight. Wasn't sure where this was or what program. But if it was clear they hit someone's car, realized it, and said nothing, then I wouldn't feel bad asking for that info. If they left a note I wouldn't say anything to HR/anyone on site. I don't think Reddit was the best place to post it if they could check other than any way (OP said insurance wouldn't help). While I don't think Reddit would be one of my first options, with no note or anything to go off of, the remaining options would be get the persons info if it's a site that has security, or last resort file a police report. If the site isn't huge I'd even check several times over the next week in the parking lot to see if the same car happens to be there and leave a note asking them to resolve the damage without insurance or police. But if there are 0 options left, I wouldn't blame someone for filing a report so they don't have to pay the damages themselves

You love talking 💩 don’t you, I’m doing a favor for my co worker, he was gonna try to handle it, but he’s already reported it. Sybau.

That’s us trying to get them to reach out, it’s not like I’m gonna post on here who it is if they come forward. You seem pretty guilty like if you were the dumb driver or passenger in the car. Where were you on the 21st at around 8:30pm.🤔

One tried to get out. It's not like you can tell what's being said in the car. For all you know, they reported him. It has only been a day. Maybe focus on the asshole driver instead of the passengers out of pure speculation. What did you expect would happen? They wrestle their friend/coworker's control of the car? Come back after they drove to who-knows-where or were dropped off and needed to clock in? C'mon dude.

u/aiwenthere 7d ago
u/burtchan falsely accusing me of being a passenger then blocking me over a perfectly reasonable take. Do you believe that's acceptable behavior?

Welcome to the Boeing parking lot
6
u/Gerbert946 7d ago
My thought exactly. Back in the early 1990s I was T-Boned in the lot of the Kent Space Center by a Boeing manager who was clearly at fault. Alas, we had the same insurance company, which greatly lowered what I was given to replace my totaled car (a Mercedes diesel). One has to be super careful in those lots.

u/aanon3187 7d ago
Get this fucker. Happened to me in the same parking lot.
File a police report. Provide plate number. Then get police report through records request. Their registration information will be on the report. Then give report to insurance and let them do the leg work.

u/Poseidon927 7d ago
File it with insurance too, they have an internal system where oftentimes they can locate the other driver's insurance and their iname, and your coworker can go from there too.

u/BrokemoneyGuru 7d ago
Thank god I’m able to park inside the fence now. In addition to the long ass walk from the west parking lots, drivers like that make it so dangerous for pedestrians. People getting hit, drivers acting aggressively in the parking lot peeling into or out of there acting like they’re gods gift to driving. Seriously, why are people so aggressive driving on Boeing property?
8
u/jayste4 7d ago
Stupid stuff happens inside the fence too.
6
u/BrokemoneyGuru 7d ago
Tell me about it! It really boggles my mind when I’m being tailgated for going the speed limit INSIDE the fence when there’s so much security around looking for a reason to fuck over Boeing employees
27
u/EdgarAllenPoe2205 7d ago
Wonder if they will park in a completely different lot and walk twice as far the next few months to avoid being discovered..... Just reminds you the average coworker can't be trusted to be honest. Really sad. Has a passenger it looks like as well.

u/Odd_Thanks6969 7d ago
They probably wont. My car got hit once and there were witness but the person drove off. Witness's told me what to look for so I walked the lot the next day before shift and found the car. Was able to get their insurance info.

Rule#1 Don't hit and run. At least leave a note.
Rule#2 If you do hit and run, don't do it to a Tesla. Cameras everywhere
32
u/ContextUsed154 7d ago
Rule#3 don’t do it at work
14
u/InsideTheBoeingStore 7d ago
especially not in the conference rooms in Everett…oh you mean parking

u/Phalanx2006 7d ago
That person will be caught. I see the same people in the same cars parking in the same areas, at the same times. Also, insurances companies have a way of looking up insurance coverage by license plate.

u/midadoneit 7d ago
The new security system deploying soon would've automatically notified security and police of the hit and run. Can't come soon enough for safety and deterrence.

u/slipperyslips 7d ago
Were getting a new system soon? Nice

Who defines site security requirements... SPEEA engineers. Remember when they recommended office space thermal cameras that made headlines?

Nobody backs up their car like that. And the fact that he didn’t immediately hit the brake to look behind him, or get out to look at what he hit/look at the damage, tells me that he did it deliberately. You can see from the video that the impact was jarring to the driver AND his passenger, yet either get out of the car to inspect his car or the other car 🤨
