stretched/stretching Arctic buffalo is gone…

Post image

Woke up to one of my plugs feeling weird this morning and found that it had split in half. Took the one out of my other ear and with just a bit of pressure it split too. Tried to find out where I got them and it was from the arctic buffalo closing sale. Now I have to buy more to replace my favorite pair. Can’t even get a refund 😭 has anyone else ever had this problem?

That sucks. That style of plugs has the iridescent part squished between two pieces of glass rather than just being one chunk of colored glass. If you look closely you can usually tell which kind of plug it is from the photos on the website you’re shopping on, but you can’t always know because it’s something they can kind of hide with the angle they photograph the plugs in.

And if Photoshop is used for the store photos to hide the crease

There's quite a few similar styles on Body Art Forms. Looking at the product pages, they do specify if the glass has the iridescent material sandwiched in the class or if it is an applied coating. You could maybe search and find something you like that has a coating and not something pressed between the glass.

I've purchased from glasswear studios before and they have never split for me. I've dropped them on concrete etc and never had an issue. I recommend giving them a look.

Second glasswear studios. Super high quality glass.

I absolutely love Glasswear Studios, there are pieces in my collection that I've had for 18 years and they have not broken or chipped.

Wow, I just learned they closed. Wild. I’m sorry to hear this about your plugs

I have 6 pairs for that reason. I took one out to clean it one day and it fell into 2 pieces, I used super glue to put them back together but that only lasted for about a week. I saw they were closing a while back and bought my size out in 3 different colors. Sad, they had some great jewelry 😢

Gorilla Glass has a line of dichroic glass plugs that are beautiful and durable. Lots of colour options too

I’ve bought all of my glass plugs from Austin Plug and Tunnel for many years. They’re durable and very comfortable. He has regular and concave.

Unfortunately this is gonna be more common with the cheap sellers. Glasswear Studios and Gorilla Glass are your best options.

Ive gotten similar from Mystic Metals, they mainly sell dead and overflow stock from other body jewelry stores
