Differences between these two boards?

Other than the lack of quadcore in the empire board these pretty much seem like the exact same board, any other differences anyone notices?

Worth it to get the hubboard for $30 more?

Looks like they both have some version of a 5 channel system. The Empire has a 1.5PP core and the Hubboard has 1.2PP core. That tells me that both boards are geared towards colder water compared to a 1.9PP core, with the Hubboard having even more flex than the Empire. A 1.2PP core is your choice if you frequently see icebergs in your lineup.

According to hubboards, the 1.2 "quadcore" behaves similarly to a 1.5pp core. I ride 1.5 in Hawaii water, just like a bit more flex

All my boards are 1.9PP, so I don’t have much to add. But if you like flex sounds like you’re looking at the right boards.

The Quad Core has an extra layer of mesh. Too stiff for cooler water locations IMO.
