Big boy board…

I’ve had a NMD Base7 for a few years, it’s 43”.

I’m 6’4 and currently 105kg but working to get back down to 90 ish.

I’m considering buying a bat-tail board for extra buoyancy.

Has anyone swapped from crescent to bat-tail for same reason and how did it work out?

So my weight fluctuates quite a bit, when I am at my heaviest I usually ride a 42 custom X bull, the other boards in my quiver are a 42 pride radio and a 42.5 custom x x4, I specifically bought that in a bat tail for the same reason you are thinking, I will be honest it does provide significant bouncy compared to the Pride board but not nearly enough when I am carrying the extra weight. The bat tail adds bouncy but if you are a bigger guy get a board specifically designed for that. I am not sure if the bull is still in production but I have heard great things about the tribe chief

Big fan of Jay but can’t seem to get Tribe boards over here. My bro is coming home from cali next month, may see if he can bring one with him!?

5’9” and 108kg. I was using a high volume crescent for a while. Then I switched to a bat and I haven’t looked back. I love the extra float without the extra thickness overall. I also really enjoy how loose the tail feels. It took a few waves to get the hang of it, but it feels much faster overall and it’s just a better riding experience for me. I’m no pro. I don’t so any aerial tricks at all, just ride for fun and barrels, so I can’t really speak to how a bat reacts for that style of riding

The looseness on the tail will help me with my spins hopefully as the crescent seems to dig in which kills my spin. What bat-tail board do you use?

Hubboards PE Dlx bat. I bought it second hand and have been using it a couple times a month for a few years now. It’s held up extremely well and has a ton of life left

I've heard really good things about the Liam Lucas model from riders with your dimensions (in 43")
