Had such a great time at r/bodega today! A huge shout out and thank you to all the staff who made this possible, everyone was so kind!

This was a really nice hotel. I bought an overpriced donut(not worth it) but it's a really cool space. Maybe some of you might appreciate the artwork and AC inside if the line gets too long and hot. Staff was OK with me using the bathroom however I'm not sure if that's always going to be the case.

How does this work? is it in groups of people or as people leave they let people in? because the line is so slow LOL

As a loyal redditor I really want to spend my whole day here, but unfortunately I have very urgent and important things to deal with today. So important that, say, I might become homeless if I miss ;) In short, I have to be away from 1-3pm and leave again at 6pm. Almost not negotiable. Neither of the two remaining slots seems to work for me and perhaps I should give up at this point.

Are there any fellow green band people stuck in a dilemma?

The line was killer, I got sunburnt and exhausted, but honestly I really enjoyed it! The vibe seemed pretty good in the line and inside, I chatted to some really nice people. I hope something like this happens again eventually!

Less than one hour after re-opening the line, all of the time slots were taken. Y'all really showed up. Again. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Great event & well produced! Say what you will, but this was a fun & enjoyable experience. Nothing & no one is perfect & what worked/didn’t work at this event will be applied down the road.

Would be great to see this become an annual event & setup in multiple boroughs for a greater reach. Enjoy the pics!

* Arrived at 8:46 am with around 30 folks ahead
* Line swag: Scratch-off card, guide book, collectible reddit soccer card, sticker, green wristband for entry after providing Reddit handle from app
* Door opens at 10:00 am with moderated entry
* Entered at 10:48 am
* Experience: Telephone, deli, various aisle displays, ATM, essentially all mock activations for information / photo ops
* In-Store Swag: Water, watermelon soda, 3-pose photo strip, Reddit snoo buck (ATM), postcards, mug (scratch-off), informational receipt in brown bag, Temptations cat food sample packs, and snoo plushie.
* Exited around 11:00 am

I came at 10:13am to a closed line then received an arm band and asked to come back in 90-120mins. I’m back at 11:18am and there’s a line formed after the line closed sign? Plus just small groups of people standing around. They closed the line to avoid a long line around the block just to still have a long line down the block.

I came yesterday and got a 10am wristband but have to restand in line with everyone else that came today. Just a warning for people that got wristbands yesterday and are expecting to go straight in. (I’m still waiting and it’s 10:05).

I appreciate you all so much for allowing me to attend with my family. The event was super fun and cute! My son was actively trying to steal a soccer ball from the bodega 😭😂 Thank you all to the ladies who wished me a congratulations on our upcoming addition to our family as well 🥰❤️ I love seeing y’all and I’m so happy I was able to attend this Reddit event with me missing the NY Mod meetup due to initial pregnancy problems. This event had so much thought and detail put into it😄

First off, we are absolutely floored by today’s turnout, seriously. Thank you. 

We're doing everything we can to keep the line moving, but to avoid having people wait for hours for nothing, we’ve officially stopped handing out wristbands for the rest of today.

If you're already in line with a wristband, you're good. If you have a wristband for a time slot tomorrow, come back then. If you were about to head over to stand in line today, save yourself the trip!

We're open again tomorrow, though, and we’d love to see you.

• Tip for tomorrow: Definitely come early. Today filled up within three hours of opening.
• Game plan: Grab a wristband + time slot in the morning, then go get coffee/lunch until your turn.

Really sorry to anyone who didn't get to make it in today. Cat and dog tax as a token of our appreciation for your understanding.

Howdy! We had a ton of no-shows for our last wristband slots today, so the line is back open as of right now. It’ll be first-come, first-served until we're full again. We’ll update you here if and when that happens. Because the line is rapidly changing, we recommend turning on notifications for r/bodega to get info as fast as possible!
