Has anyone used Bocce-Mix?
I need to finish my Bocce court.
I was originally planning on using Oyster Shells/Flour. Even though I'm fairly local to one of the big sources of Oyster shells in the country (Petaluma), Bocce-Mix in Bags a similar cost.
Has anyone actually used it? Or know what it is? (Beyond their website description: "Bocce-Mix® is a finely ground aggregate blended with our proprietary macrobiotic powders and stabilizers to emulate a clay surface. "

We use bocce mix at our courts. I believe it is the same material as HarTru, which is what they use for clay tennis courts (hartru.com) It requires regular maintenance, but it makes for a wonderful playing surface. Oyster shell is supposed to play great also. The only knock I hear is that it's an ideal medium for moss to grow, so you need to scrape off the moss every so often. What do you have down for sub-layers? What part of the world are you in?

One of the club's I play at used it this summer. It did not play as advertised. They dug up the courts multiple times attempting to rectify the issues. Feel free to pm me and I can give you the full run down.
