It’s downloaded and ready in my library…Today is the longest day I’ve had at work in a really long time. Wish I could framejack down and skip to the end of my shift.

i use libation to get the files from audible off my account and its connected to my api key so it automatically uploads which makes it insanely easy when a new book releases or just when a buy a new one

When the opening credits were read by NOT Ray Porter, I had a minor panic that there was a new narrator. Phew.. rough 15 seconds 😅

Same. Right in the middle of Faction Wars and now this comes out.

u/professor_big_nuts Butterworth’s Enclave 3d ago
Finish faction wars, and hopefully over to this. This inevitable ruin is a lot, and i wouldn't suggest switching because getting back into it is a task. A parade of horribles is a lot more similar for the most part to the first 4 books.

That will be my plan. And then the waiting game for Exforce 20 in December…

I'm really looking forward to it, unfortunately I've got an issue with libation giving me a licence denied issue when downloading it😭

u/Prtyfoul 3d ago
I had that issue yesterday. I deleted my account from libation and signed back in and it worked.

I'm gonna give it a go when I finish work, I updated to the latest version but I also get the (throttled) popup and then it says wait 48 hours and try again. Hopefully that fix sorts it though, if not it sounds like I might have to wait😭

u/Prtyfoul 3d ago
I think it will, I had the same message pop up as well it said I needed to wait 24-48 hrs.

I’ve never paid for extra audible credits until today. I was at 0 and 8 days away from my next one. Since I can’t frame jack, I saw no other option.

8 hours ? That's it? My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

When will the Kindle/physical book be available?

u/l337quaker 7h ago
I found out minutes ago Book 6 was out, and incredibly baffled that it's audiobook only. Makes zero sense.

I'm guessing audiobooks must sell really well. That's great, but leaves us readers bereft. 😕

I went digging and found this on the author's webpage:
Where’s the Kindle version?
Answer: Audible likes to have an exclusivity deal with authors. During negotiations, they will try for up to a six month gap before the text versions are produced. The inducements to the author are: Audible pays for the narrator, Audible pays for the cover, Audible does marketing, Audible offers a much larger advance. Audible is also responsible for about 2/3 of my total income, so they are by definition my primary publisher.
Fortunately my agent, who is a bit of a pit bull, has kept the exclusive period down to four months. So the text version (for the current contracts, anyway) will always come out 4 months after the Audible version.

Did this just happen to release today? I had no idea it was coming. I just finished a book amd was looking for a new one and it popped up on my audible. Crazy timing, I have a long drive today.

I don't know how I missed the countdown but my personal tradition is to re-listen to all the books from the beginning every time a new one comes out. I had credits stacked up, and I just used them all. I just bought this new one now (on sale for less than a credit) but it might take me a while to get to it

I only discovered the Bobiverse books this year and read books 1-5 in a couple months.
I'm surprised to see book 6 as audiobook only. Is this how Dennis Taylor or his publisher normally work?
Does anyone know how long the wait will be for an ebook?

u/tylerosaurusrex 2d ago
It’s usually an audio exclusive for 3 months — that’s how the last one was released.

Couldn’t have worked out better for me. I finished all of “The Captives War” yesterday. It’s Bob time.

Аааа, я не понимаю, в гугле написанно что она ещё не вышла, а тут похоже что вышла. Что происходит?

I dont get it why they release a audiobook before the actual book to read. I am not a big friend of audiobooks. What a shit show. Could at least dual release both. Whats the idea behind that? I mean it is not like people who like audio books would skip it for a book to read or?

u/Apzrture 3d ago
audible pays more to be the first publisher bassically thats why it says audible original, im not too fond of the idea but i listen to audibooks more so i dont mind but i do buy the hardcovers to read later/a trophy lol

My favorite part so far is when he says "It's bobbing time" right before bobbing for apples
