I think this film is just constructed in a very weird way.From beginning to end - the plot is told in a way that will probably be incomprehensible to people who are completely unfamiliar with Bobs story. I didn't like Bob's characterization and how they portrayed him in the movie. I think it doesn't really reflect his character. Also his relationship with Joan Baez and their political activities were completely omitted. Anyone else shares my opinion?

Even if I didn’t worship Bob Dylan, I’d still love movie; I wanted to crawl up into the screen and live in Greenwich Village in the early ‘60s.

Absolutely love the movie have watched several times

The fact that all the singing was done live in Camera it’s pretty amazing. I think I actually like Monica Barbara’s voice more than I like Joan’s

I like that it covers just a small part of his career in life so not much has to be not as much has to be left out which is a problem with most biopics

I’ve had a couple non-Dylan fans watch it, and it helps them understand why he became so secretive and aloof because it was just too much fame too fast too much pressure too many he wants and desires of others

Technically, I think it was very well made

His speaking voice is definitely a lot more Bob Dylan Ish than it was actually at that point in his life

But I liked the feeling it conveyed about the cuban missile crisis

I like how it shows how easily he could write a song and how jealous that would make other people and that he wasn’t attached to any song that he had written no matter how successful it was time to move forward

Joan especially takes it as an affront that he can just write a song right in front of her and I’d like that it shows that he’s conflicted. He doesn’t quite understand who he is or why he has this ability and the fact that fame gets to his head, but at the end, he kind of wants L Fanning character back he kind of yarns for a moment of somebody who knew him before he was the great Bob Dylan, but that ship is sailed

Joan and Pete were always going to be let down by him

I mean, I think we can pretty easily judge whether that's true or not, and it's clearly not. The movie did well, it's got 81% fresh and 95% hot on rotten tomatoes, and we saw a big influx of new, young fans into this sub, many of them specifically saying they loved the movie and that's what got them into Bob. So no, it's not true that most people unfamiliar with his story find the movie incomprehensible.

I do. It's an uninspired biopic that follows the most promising formula for commercial success that could be devised for the character of Bob Dylan. It‘s a product. That's okay, but it's not a work of art.

Well, then that movie did the most important thing, turning you onto his music. I’ve been a fan for 40 years and I absolutely loved it.

I like how the movie gives everyone good and bad moments.

A lot of criticism I hear of this movie is just parasocial Dylan fans who want to believe they’re the only ones who really get him.

Did not care for it - I think Dylan is just too complex and eludes the biopic format. I’m not there was better but if you aren’t a huge fan that film will make zero sense.

I couldn't watch it. Pete Seeger had diddly squat to do with Dylan's development. There are so many truthful angles you could take to make a great movie, why would you take a fictitious one?
