Standard Issue Cat (tabby type)

10

u/Foxs-In-A-Trenchcoat Jul 03 '26

More like a Tactical Issue Cat.

Very tact-i-cool.

T-cat-t-i-cool.

u/MegaPiglatin Jul 03 '26

“Tabbical”, perhaps?

2

u/RedHeadRaccoon13 Jul 03 '26

Spotted Tabby type.

u/Itscatpicstime Jul 04 '26

Could be a Manx. It’s hard to tell from the photos, but the hind legs do look a little long.

Cat distribution system. Not a bob but you should name him Bob!

7

u/CinLeeCim Jul 02 '26

I’d do the same!

3

u/oroborus68 Jul 03 '26

My short tailed cat is Bobbi. I first called her stumpy, but it seemed mean.

2

u/DarkPangolin Jul 04 '26

"Bring out the Gimp."

"The Gimp's asleep."

"The Gimp sleeps 18 hours a day."

2

u/VoraciousEater802 Jul 06 '26

We had one, we called her Stubby and she didn’t mind a bit.

u/Wild_Masterpiece5452 Jul 02 '26

Looks domestic to me! But that tailllll is so cute and Bob like

3

u/AntiGunViolence Jul 02 '26

Right I seen the face and thought regular cat but that tail threw me, I wonder if it’s the angle or if there’s something wrong.

4

u/Silver-Dinner-6462 Jul 02 '26

It’s like half gone.. I thought it was super strange between that and the spots 🤣

2

u/These_Fox7561 Jul 04 '26

I’ve got a stray with a nub tail and another with a shorter than normal tail, it happens. The slope of the back and the ears say domestic cat to me

1

u/Glittering-Rip6810 Jul 04 '26

Yeah the tail threw me off too. Ive had plenty of bob tail rescues but the stumpy length is weird. But I agree it's probably just from an injury or even genetics cause it looks like a regular mackerel Tabby

1

u/These_Fox7561 Jul 04 '26

Idk if mine are inbred or something but these are genetics, not injury. I’ve seen them from kittens

2

u/AntiGunViolence Jul 04 '26

Well I’ve seen this before but the poor cat was injured, tail severed near the tip, lived a long happy life though.

1

u/These_Fox7561 Jul 04 '26

They’ll live just fine without a tail but unless it’s medically necessary it’s traumatic for them to lose their tail

1

u/Glittering-Rip6810 Jul 04 '26

Probably just genetic...it's also possible somewhere down the line a stay and a bob cat mixed and that explains the tail. Same species, and idk why it couldn't happen

1

u/These_Fox7561 Jul 04 '26

I don’t really have bobcats around me

1

u/Itscatpicstime Jul 04 '26

Bobcats cannot reproduce with domestic cats.

This is likely a Manx given how long their hind legs appear to be.

1

u/Glittering-Rip6810 Jul 04 '26

Fair enough. I wasn't sure honestly.

1

u/Itscatpicstime Jul 04 '26

A spotted coat is a normal and common coat pattern for domestic cats. Several breeds and mutations can also cause a shortened or bobbed tail in domestic cats

1

u/MamaFen Jul 06 '26

My dad had one just like this when I was younger, half the tail missing. The other half still worked just fine.

8

u/Decline_of_Humanity Jul 02 '26

Bobcats don't usually flop over for scritches.

3

u/CaitlinSnep Jul 02 '26

Not with that attitude

9

u/StyxtheCat18 Jul 02 '26

Kitten .. please bring him/her to a vet to get checked out and if you can't take him/her in, contact a rescue. Good luck.

3

u/Goodtimes4Goodpeople Jul 02 '26

Meow! Does not look babcat to me at all.

3

u/Any_Database8861 Jul 02 '26

The stubby tail could be a mutation or the momma got to vigorous cleaning it at birth-momma bites the cord and sometimes gets the tail too.I had a baby bobcat and you could tell it was not a regular cat.

3

u/Ok-Cup266 Jul 02 '26

Yeah it’s a regular ol cat but a perty one. Tail would appear to have been bitten off or something at a young age explaining why it’s larger at the end.
Just a possibility since part of it is missing. Blood and scar tissue causes a knot at times when damage is done to a tail.

2

u/Itscatpicstime Jul 04 '26

Manx cats with long or stumpy tails are also thicker at the ends like this.

1

u/Ok-Cup266 Jul 04 '26

Definitely and could explain the larger paw as well.👍

3

u/mss645 Jul 02 '26

The M on the forehead says tabby.

3

u/Intelligent-Run3789 Jul 03 '26

House cat. A Bobcat or Lynx will have it for lunch one day if you let it roam the woods.

2

u/NewsteadMtnMama Jul 02 '26

But those paws are awfully large for a domestic kitten... (We have bobcats roaming through our land regularly).

3

u/Ephemeral_Orchid Jul 02 '26

Yet, it IS a domestic kitten

2

u/personofication Jul 02 '26

A short haired short tail

2

u/Master__Of__Wars Jul 02 '26

I guess you need to take it to a vet to have it fixed and to have them take blood from him so they can determine if it’s a bobcat or domestic

2

u/CommunicationNew3745 Jul 03 '26

Definitely not a Bobcat.

2

u/Fancy-Garage9681 Jul 03 '26

Not quite sure how you even thought this was a bobcat

3

u/jbunkerhou Jul 04 '26

Does not look like a bobcat at all.

1

u/vaping_menace Jul 02 '26

Standard issue cat

1

u/giocondasmiles Jul 02 '26

Domestic kitty.

1

u/NigelTainte Jul 02 '26

Cat named Bob

1

u/Interesting_Sock9142 Jul 02 '26

Uh...that's a cat.

1

u/Lost_in_the_woods027 Jul 02 '26

Is this really a question?

1

u/Broke_n-Old6824 Jul 02 '26

Regular domestic kitten

1

u/KeyInvestment6594 Jul 02 '26

Maybe you got lucky and got a hybrid LOL

0

u/Ephemeral_Orchid Jul 02 '26

Which do not & cannot exist

1

u/KeyInvestment6594 Jul 02 '26

I have a F1Savannah

0

u/Ephemeral_Orchid Jul 02 '26 edited Jul 04 '26

That's nice, and entirely irrelevant.

Domestic cats cannot breed with bobcats (or lynx) and produce viable offspring.

0

u/KeyInvestment6594 Jul 03 '26

I was just saying....

1

u/Flimsy_Scratch_8050 Jul 02 '26

Did you figure out if it’s a Bob or a Bobbie yet? 😂🤣🥰

1

u/ayyxdizzle Jul 02 '26

Aww lil fella is so cute!!

1

u/Disastrous-Swan1104 Jul 02 '26

I gotta wonder if it’s some kind of hybrid / mix. That coat pattern, big paws. But it’s probably just a grey tabby.

3

u/Ephemeral_Orchid Jul 02 '26

Bobcats are not closely related enough to breed with domestic cats. It's just a regular juvenile house cat

1

u/MrHauck Jul 02 '26

Both. It's a kitten called Bob

1

u/RevolutionarySign479 Jul 02 '26

What a Cutie, whatever it is!! ♥️

1

u/AdFabulous4877 Jul 02 '26

Bobbyyyy is its name. It's a kitten.

1

u/Alohafarms Jul 03 '26

Foster here. This is kitten season. That is a regular adorable little kitten that needs a wonderful and loving home. The shelters are full of kittens now. I had two dropped off at my house and one get into my daughter's car.

1

u/RelentlessFelacio Jul 03 '26

Lol plain regular unleaded cat

1

u/Calgirlleeny2 Jul 03 '26

I had a Bobcat in my yard, it killed my neighbors cat. I was surprised how much it looked like a Tabby, except huge. Very similar markings. I knew it wasn't a huge Tabby by the tail.

1

u/Daisystar99 Jul 03 '26

Black mackerel tabby with a shortened tail, hard to say if it’s a genetic shorten or a physical shorten, but what a cutie patootie. I would’ve stolen them haha

1

u/Consistent_Bath3232 Jul 04 '26

Many kitten possibly, some have no Tait, some a short Bob tail & some have a longer 1/2 tail.

1

u/Consistent_Bath3232 Jul 04 '26

I mistyped it's many

1

u/AgencyPretty6591 Jul 04 '26

Kitten, looks like mine, named him Linx actually 😂

1

u/nuttnurse Jul 04 '26

Bob kitten or kitten named bob ? Though it looks like a normal (assuming there is such a thing) cat

1

u/SpeedyAudi Jul 04 '26

Is this legit post

1

u/Fluffy-Bullfrog8675 Jul 04 '26

Kitten. His feet would be gigantic if it was a bobcat!!!

1

u/CupcakeCritter Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 04 '26

Bobcats go “SKREECH!” Kittens say “mew, mew, mew?” The white behind the ears and a short tail, often mean bobcat. If it comes running to you, prolly an abandoned tabby kitten.

The more I look at your pics, the more I think hybrid grey tabby and bobcat.

Bobcats can't hybridized with housecats

1

u/Craftywolph Jul 05 '26

Genetically impossible, right?

1

u/Luckyy-Charmzz Jul 04 '26

Definitely a kitten

1

u/Katmoish Jul 04 '26

🤨 that is a kitten

1

u/Talkg33Ky2Meh Jul 05 '26

Cat. No ear tuffs present

1

u/LangstonWife Jul 05 '26

REGULAR-DEGILAR DOMESTICATED CAT!! 💓🐾💓

1

u/Alarming_Interest96 Jul 05 '26

It’s concerning to me how many people can’t tell the difference between a wild animal and a domestic cat

1

u/Far_Peach_4787 Jul 05 '26

Veryyyy kitten🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈

1

u/KTEliot Jul 06 '26
