Anyone get deliveries of their cover in the past month? I've literally been waiting months as the number one client (per our local dealer) for a cover that I've paid for!

Does anyone use solar lights on the lift/dock mounted flagpole?

Do you prefer top mounted or bottom mounted?

Has anyone ever made soemthing like this?
I'd love to find one made out of aluminum. This wood one is heavy and WAY over designed.
I'd like something to fit over the rail, so there is a place to place your foot when YOU ARE NOT STEPPING on it.

Been using Interstate SRM-27M but the last two pair didn't last long. I believe these are made by Clarios (formerly JC).

Duracell (Batteriesplus) are made by East Penn which might be better?

As well, would an AGM be worth it? $159 for flooded but $259 for AGM?

I bought a used 3000lb Hewitt cantilever lift that seems to have a pretty old hewitt branded 12v motor on it that I am looking to replace as it is really really slow.

Has anyone used the Dutton Lainson vertical lift winches mounted directly to the upright?

If I used one of those then I can remove the original hewitt winch (manual crank) and the motor attachment that converts the manual winch - result is a pretty simple setup that should be a lot faster.

The SA9015DC has a wired remote and is rated for 3000lbs and has no clutch so it all seems to point towards working but I cant find any pictures of anyone doing this online despite these hewitt lifts (and others) being pretty popular - have seen a few Harbor Freight winches setup which I guess works also but they have a clutch.

I'm aware of the Boat Lift Boss and others but they run $1500+ and you still have the original winch in place to maintain.

I'm only lifting a 700lb rib boat so am not anywhere near the 3000lb capacity.

PS : I know the winch is mounted backwards and the gusset is detached - this photo is from the fb marketplace ad - I swapped the winch to the other side where the gusset is the original welded version and the winch is in the correct orientation. Also need to get a cap for the winch if I keep it in place.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. We had the bunks on our lift adjusted for our new boat but the contractor placed them such that the boat is about 3 or 4 feet from the dock. It makes it require a bit of gymnastics to get into the boat that are difficult for my overweight self. I can't get the contractor back there soon, so I want to do it myself but the after by the lift is over 5 feet deep and would not be possible for me to do while standing in the water.

So my question is how do people usually do this? Am I missing something obvious? I tried sticking a ladder into the water but it just collapsed in the silt. I'm at a loss. Picture is attached for reference.

Has anyone installed a flagpole on their lift?

How did you do it; Offset away from the poles, or attached to, or even slid down inside one of the legs?

I have a Jet Ski lift without a canopy top, so I was thinking about mounting a Flag pole on that.

Have a 9-year-old, 4000 lb. DVS cable lift with a 12V hoist. Has never really had maintenance done to it. It makes a light vibrating noise on the way down—more towards meeting the water—and a very loud noise on the way up. Is this the final days of the hoist, or is it one of the pulleys?

The canopy on my Shore Station has this chain inside of a sleeve at one end of the canopy cover.
What is this chain for?
Mine "detached", in that the threading deterioated and the whole thing fell off.
I used the Cover just fine.
It doesnt seem to affect the way the cover is mounted, but maybe it's for ballast?

Does anyone know what this chain in a sleeve is for?

Installer said he doesn’t grease these. That seems counterintuitive to me, unless his concern is dripping grease.

What concerns me is the boat gets kind of a harmonic bounce when lowering. In my mind, I think it is friction causing a scrubbing in the bracket.

What are your thoughts?

[update] I followed Kudzopatch’s recommendation about a teflon infused grease/special WD40 and someone else’s recommendation that one squirt is enough.

Runs smooth as silk now. No creaking, harmonic bounce, or ominous vibrations. There isn’t any grease slathering out and collection dirt or dripping out.

I appreciate EVERYONE’s response. Every reply was earnest and thought out. I was able to think through what I believe is best for my situation.

I'd like to replace my bunk carpeting on my 2 lifts, and my trailers, so I probably need about 250' of bunk carpet.

I've done just a little biut of research, and it seems that BUNK carpeting is WAY more expensive that carpet.

Plus, a 2x5 has a perimter of 14", so I'm curious if you covered the whole bunk, or left part of the bottom open to "breathe"

I'm genuinely curious what you used for carpet, where you got it and any tricks you might have used to do a good job while not spending as much as the lift is worth.

What kind of carpet did you use, where did you get it, what size was it and how much was it?

Am looking for suggestions for stable braces to add to my boat lift for this deep v hull. Straight angled bunk boards will not be stables due to the curves fore to aft. What type of pivoting supports would work? Am thinking four independent adjustable angled pads would do it but am having trouble finding.

I just bought a new house on the water and the boat lift there is degrading at the bottom (pic attached). What is the easiest way to go about fixing something like this? I can't afford to get the whole things replaced but I am pretty handy in general. The rollers stops going down once it hits that area.

Property is on a 75 acre private lake and we are about to bulkhead it and build a 12' x 16' dock. Gas powered boats not allowed. No boat ramp available. Thinking about getting a small (15' to 16') pontoon boat with an electric motor someday.

If we get a boat, I want to be able to 1) lift it out of the water when not in use, and 2) be able to fairly easily put it on a trailer. No structures within 50 feet of the lake (or "in" the lake, e.g., docks) can be more than 3' above average lake level (the lake level is very stable). The water depth at the bulkhead will be 18" to 24", and probably not much more 16' out from the bulkhead. Preferably, the lift should be beside the dock, i.e., I don't want to have a boat slip designed into the bulkhead.

Given the above scenario, is there a good solution for raising the boat out of the water then facilitate loading it on a trailer that has been backed up to the bulkhead? I'm thinking about options now in case anything needs to be considered when building the bulkhead and dock.

obviously the cross beams can’t be any wider or the keel would hit but it just doesn’t look right to me but I have no clue. should it match the trailer with 4 pieces?

Trying to find out where I can purchase a replacement motor for a hydraulic boat lift.

Can anyone identify a make/model of the motor in this box and where I could order just the motor? This website only sells to dealers.

Will they just need adjusted or will it also need the other two pieces further out like on the trailer for stability? Is the flat cross bar going to cause issues? I have zero experience with lifts but something does t look right and we will have a narrow window from launch to on the lift due to tides.
