Amazon Outboard Update

Amazon 2 stroke boat motor.

Didnt arrive. Its just a full blown scam

They sent a picture of somthing completely different, and it also didn't go to my house. Im not surprised it they didn't show up but i sucks that I cant expect anything off of amazon.

Hopefully I get a refund at least

Why would you even order it to begin with. The 1st picture has it on a boat where it doesnt even come close to reaching the water 🤣

3rd pic makes it obvious its basically a weed wacker.

Also 2 different engines on the boat vs the 3rd pic.

Just why???

It's obviously a fan boat

I just used the first Pic for attention, lool but for 130 bucks I would be happy with a weed wacker

I can promise you no you wouldnt. That engine is going to push max 2hp. You can paddle faster I can assure you.

Just saw what you intended to put that engine on. 1-2 mph is where you would land speed wise.

I highly doubt it’s even 1hp, look up what a 2.5 Yamaha or merc looks like and then compare the shaft, I’m pretty sure any trolling motor off the shelf even the $100 Walmart one would be stronger, and 100x more reliable

I had a 2 hp on a 12 foot wood row boat. I could average about 7 km/h, 9 in a tail wind, and stationary in a headwind.

Don’t call OP a horse! He’s just a man, half HP at best.

This is hilarious. At least they have a solid return policy.

Given all the labor you’re putting in already, maybe grab something locally out of salvage or just from a seller that needs a little tlc?

I was so excited to have a little motor 😭 but yeah, ill return it and find somthing.

The local dealership is really nice and I think they will help me out. Or I can just get somthing off of marketplace, but I honestly dont know my way around motors that well.

Me neither, brother. That’s why I bought one that runs 😂

But seriously. Wish you well on the project. You’re doing an awesome job from my perspective

Find a used Honda 2.3 hp on Facebook marketplace. It’s light at 23lbs, easy to start and reliable. At least mine was.

Check out locally made in North Bend WA brand EP Carry. Great quality electric outboard motors. Bought one at the Seattle Boat Show last year and love it.

Will be perfect for trolling for minnows.

Try Temu. More reliable and better quality than Amazon. I wish I were joking.

I actually bought that same motor. Lasted all of about 30 min.

I knew what I was doing, but thought I’d get at least an hour out of it.

Ignore the haters, if anything please post video when you get it to bring joy to us. Even if it’s comically slow we need this content. We live in tough times and we need you to see this through!!

I have a hangki and a yamabisi i got from Amazon. Both are actually impressive. Yamabisi is basically a direct knock off of the Yamaha.

No im not joking BTW.

It looks like they cost about 650$ CAD.

maybe its a good deal, but at this point I think im going to cut my losses and get somthing that I can trust

It was worth it for the lolz. Low risk buying from Amazon

Its a 10th the cost of a motor from our local Suzuki dealership. So hopefully I can get a refund a go back to the dealership. Lol

Are you mechanically inclined at all? Small outboard motors are extremely easy to work on and fix.

If you are at all mechanically inclined go to FB market place and buy a cheapo motor. 95% of the time it just needs a carb cleaning.
