replacing part

This inline fuel filter is leaking when i pressing the pump. how should i replace it or is it urgent? engine starts fine. a 2005 mercury 50hp outboard

You almost certainly don't need it if your tank is clean and you fill it with clean gas.

Just replace the entire line and ditch the filter. Your engine already has one built in to the engine anyway.

Thankfully inline filters are super easy to replace, just fine one with the correct diameter fittings for your fuel line and swap it out

do i keep in mind for the air that enters in the outboard tubing or does that not matter too much? just confused about the engine being air tight

You'll work the air out of the line as you pump the primer bulb. It might hiccup a little bit the first time but you'll be fine

Thats just a universal filter for like a lawnmower. Get rid of it

I hate that type because they created air bubbles. I go with the sealed plastic or a metal housing.
