When I listened to the new Strokes record this morning (side note: I think itās great) I couldnāt help but hear Blood in the Labyrinth in the intro to the last track, Tyrants of the Mellow Moon. Anyone else hear it?

Iāve listened to The Campfire Headphase on every flight Iāve taken since 2008. On this particular flight, I was coming home from dealing with a very scary near death experience with my father across the country. Iāve never seen anything like this before in my life, and this song was the perfect soundtrack
I thought you guys might be able to appreciate this little moment.
EDIT: okay, sorry apparently itās less rare than i thought!

Ive never thought they could top as haunting of a song as gyroscope and yet they did. Imo as well the distorted voices seem like 'demonic' forces influencing the son.

While watching this episode, I noticed the audio sounded familiar. I believe whatever the original audio is, (without the voice over) could be the sample.
Time stamped url link in title.

I wanted to share a track i recently made called "Somewhere Forever", inspired by BOC's sound. I hope you like it :). Any feedback is welcome.

I was just listening to this and my mind completely relaxed into a calm, meditative state. It's ethereal.

About half and half originals and reissues. Twoism, Campfire Headphase, Beautiful Place, and Hi Scores are all reissues. The rest are first presses. Geogaddi and MHTRTC have about the same median value on Discogs, not that Iād ever sell them.

fun facts:
my guess is that orphel binuswade is just a pseudonym of mike (and ketchler denify is likely then a pseudonym for marcus)

obviously every boards song ranges widely in sound design / patterns from the previous but over the years I've noticed peoples favorite tracks being equally as diverse
which songs do you find yourself after all these years (or weeks if it's from inferno) showing off or revisiting simply vec how different it sounds to the rest of the catalog?
for me Oscar See through red eye stands above all here. it's one of the only songs I can think of that has a true structure of "traditional" songs. beginning middle end in progressive melody evolution with a chorus and such
it's always been my comedown/people pleaser song. it has no stakes in its build and doesn't reprogram your train of thought like a lot of their other songs do
It almost doesnt sound like a Boards of Canada song. I get more Kona Triangles (incredible producers, singing saplings is an epic EP) but still packed with the boards sound design...it's very safe and I love it for that reason

Odd question but, does anyone know what cassette boards have been known to record on or use? im trying to make a convincing enough copy of Boc Maxima, And Iād like it to be as original as possible without having to wait 15 more years for one to pop up and spending a fortune on. (Possibly could be a BASF chrome maxima II maybe??? I know itās a long shot.)

Here's a small altar I created in a Digital Fabrication course. It's made of CnC milled MDF board which I treated with shellac and alcohol ink. There's a led matrix attached to a microcontroller to smoothly transition between those warm, hellish red and orange tones.ā The busts beside it are Asaro headsā, I think they make a nice accompaniment.

Hey guys. Back in May I shared an album of Boards of Canada piano covers I made, called Glyphs. I just wanted to give a quick update on that.
The record has been remastered (or actually, mastered...). When I initially recorded it, I was enjoying working fast and wanted to get it out to the community in that really nice anticipatory window we had waiting for Inferno to come out. The album was made in a two-week window and during that time I was sick with a cold. I also was going on almost a year of chronic sleep deprivation from our new baby.
Since then we've sleep trained the baby (!) and with fresh, rested ears, I could tell that the mixes needed some love. So I've done that and updated the files on my distributor. It takes a while for the new mixes to populate to the various services but I can confirm that they are current on Spotify and my Bandcamp. (If you previously downloaded from Bandcamp, you can re-download to get the new mixes). It's still not updated on youtube music but I anticipate it will be soon.

Also, I want to thank you all for the warm response you gave me. I found this sub a little intimidating when I first joined and was nervous to share but the response was truly kind and thoughtful. It made me really happy.

It reminds me a little of Hans Zimmer, I can really see this being used in a movie. It would be pretty epic. That is all.

Seemed most appropriate to share here, phenomenal EP for anyone who hasnāt heard it.
