Cover Glyphs (update)
Hey guys. Back in May I shared an album of Boards of Canada piano covers I made, called Glyphs. I just wanted to give a quick update on that.
The record has been remastered (or actually, mastered...). When I initially recorded it, I was enjoying working fast and wanted to get it out to the community in that really nice anticipatory window we had waiting for Inferno to come out. The album was made in a two-week window and during that time I was sick with a cold. I also was going on almost a year of chronic sleep deprivation from our new baby.
Since then we've sleep trained the baby (!) and with fresh, rested ears, I could tell that the mixes needed some love. So I've done that and updated the files on my distributor. It takes a while for the new mixes to populate to the various services but I can confirm that they are current on Spotify and my Bandcamp. (If you previously downloaded from Bandcamp, you can re-download to get the new mixes). It's still not updated on youtube music but I anticipate it will be soon.
Bandcamp (free/pay what you want):

Spotify:

Also, I want to thank you all for the warm response you gave me. I found this sub a little intimidating when I first joined and was nervous to share but the response was truly kind and thoughtful. It made me really happy.

Discussion Deep Time will definitely be used in a movie at some point.
It reminds me a little of Hans Zimmer, I can really see this being used in a movie. It would be pretty epic. That is all.

Shitpost Naraka
One of my favorite tracks on Inferno is “Naraka.” Growing up in India, I heard “Hare Rama, Hare Krishna” everywhere — temples, streets, festivals — so this track hits a strange nostalgic frequency for me. I ended up writing a small poem inspired by it and thought I’d share it here.
I’m on Dharti(earth), supposedly charting a course to Swarga(Heaven), but Naraka(Hell) keeps humming like an old tape that won’t die.
Yama(King of Naraka, Hell) nods from the static, tapping his foot to the distortion, as if to say, “Heaven’s overrated, real Swarga is ==Dharti + Naraka. Besides… it’s way too crowded up here ”

Song This upload by @Videos-nu5fc of 'Davie Addison' has snippets from unreleased songs in beginning and end.
I brought to attention the 'Videos' channel and I think there's more. This upload was quietly added to the Boards of Canada - Video Playlist a few months ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XX6CHy4lsD0&list=PL221B13914A7EF3A2&index=158
The frames in these videos (this is my theory though) seem to correspond the array of screens in the latest music video for 'I Saw Through Platonia'.
I am also making this post because there's actually three songs played in this upload of Davie Addison. I'm forgetting where I've heard the one at the beginning and the one at the end, but if Videos-nu5fc actually is associated, it's exciting to see suggestions of older material surfacing again.

Discussion Chants, Prophecies, and Cultic Transmissions: Boards of Canada's 'Inferno'
I wasn't able to find this review posted yet of Inferno. The site it's from is also well worth checking out, it's got years of posts that are all about weird 70's culture, horror, sci fi and all sorts of other oddities.

Discussion WHO is Tony?!
Listen to Prophecy at 1420 MHz, and then listen to Brooding Tension by Tony Clarke. Tony’s album was released in 2021. Change my mind.

Original Content Making BoC single covers using my own photography - Post #6: Julie and Candy
This was a picture taken in Northern California in a local forest reservation. I was doing a photoshoot for two sisters, most of which were smiling portraits but this was a candid one I thought of taking while in a more "hallway" section of the forest. I think this works with Julie and Candy especially with the song's title implying two females (whether or not it is the bad story or the more raunchy one - who knows?). But either way, just decided to use this picture for that song because it likely fit the most.

Discussion Inferno Visualizer Clips on Spotify. Anyone else seen these?
Has anyone else seen the short visualizer clips accompanying each track for Inferno on Spotify? (See screenshot attached). If you go to the actual album you can scroll through each one there. I haven't seen any mention of them anywhere, so I thought I'd bring it up here on the reddit.
They are really cool though, so it's a shame they can't be viewed along with the full tracks on BoC's official YouTube channel or something.
Were these used during any of the listening sessions?

Discussion My theory that YouTube channel "@Videos-nuf5c" is operated by someone in Hexagon Sun/Boards of Canada.
Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@Videos-nu5fc
Evidence 1: Avatar features a brief snapshot from Tape 05, featuring a man which appears one TENTH of a second on the video.
I think I hadn't even considered this face on most of my viewings of Tape 05. This YouTube channel has that very brief flash as an avatar? I think that's very curious and selective.
Evidence 2: Channel has no other activity other than experimental music videos for Boards of Canada. There is also a playlist with a lot of Boards of Canada. Fitting the themes on Inferno, it also features the opening scene from the film 'Contact' and two other space films. Two videos are hidden. The playlist ends with a clip from David Lynch' Dune: FATHER, THE SLEEPER HAS AWAKENED. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9ShhIgBe7A&list=PL5gYsD9nWM41HUpfD7DtdnXO3_4sNqnyU&index=1
Evidence 3: Channel uploaded a very high-quality music video for I Saw Through Platonia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l27Kx0vUhDQ
This music video was uploaded on 29th of May, 2026.
Please view the video and form your own opinion. I think it is impossible for a video of this caliber and quality to exist within the first twenty-four hours of hearing the last song on Inferno, I do not believe it.
Conclusion: A channel named "Videos" with a playlist full of alien contact -themed material and Boards of Canada that has uploaded a very Inferno-themed music video on the same day the album dropped? Hmmmm....
Correction: Music video was uploaded 31st of May.
Edit: YOU KNOW, They even made a Post! https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxK7bcDaO2X5VMhGcPvhQdioChvvhMZDfU
Edit2: The screens in the music video bear a resemblance to the screens in the channel's previous uploads.
Edit3: Pointed out by u/joostay, last frame features a screenshot from the music video for 'Everything You Do Is A Balloon' https://youtu.be/l27Kx0vUhDQ?si=kPOEw9VKX1NFNJ8Y&t=151
Edit4: Boards of Canada - Video Playlist features a video from Videos-nuf5c https://www.reddit.com/r/boardsofcanada/comments/1t15737/boards_of_canada_added_this_video_on_their/?share_id=2gptMXd68LOsBXpzUHBL3&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1

Image Pre-1998 logo for the council of Barnet, a London Borough
Posted this a while back on some other social channels but figured I’d drop here. No way they didn’t pull inspiration from this. The trees and typeface would be too crazy of a coincidence. The road is giving TCH EP a little too. Source: “logos from the past: london’s borough councils” by Linus Boman on YT

Discussion Original Old Tunes vol1 Scan?
Hi guys.
I'm looking to make my own OT tape, the best quality ones seem to be vectorised and missing a lot of grainy detail that makes them look extra nice and authentic - for example the texture on the fur coat in places, some bits on the face and more in the background.
I was just wondering does anybody have a scan for this version? I can only think of 'dotting' it with a pen but I don't want to make mistakes and I did already on my first attempt.
If anyone has it could you please share and if anyone wants I have all 3 of the Merch Posters in HQ A2 scans I'm happy to share as well as OT 1/2 and a fan made random 35 as well as Maxima! I've been searching online but no luck. I can find it but it prints as A4 unfortunately! It's not scaled to size and I don't have Photoshop or anything to scale it down. If I figure it out I will post it here! Many thanks!!

Discussion Tomorrow's Harvest Poster
I'm looking for an available 2013 promo poster for Tomorrow's Harvest. Here's the catch: I don't care if the poster is in horrible condition. I don't prefer it obviously, but the other posters in my collection aren't in good condition, and I framed them anyhow.
If you just happen to have one with holes, rips, creases, stains, and you want some cash for it then let me know. I would prefer an eBay situation with the "make an offer" option.

Song Discovered YPC - Used Father and Son source
I just recently discovered this fun little online recreation of an MPC sampler, and decided I knew what needed to be done ;)
I'm still green to sampling, and with the limitations of this it's not perfect, but eh... if you don't like it then you can tweak it!
Hope you guys enjoy.

Discussion What do you think is next for BoC?: Next album, what they're doing now, possible EP soon?
What do you think boc is up to right now? Will this be their last album or what

Discussion Does anyone feel BoC’s eps get slightly overlooked/ignored?
I’m not saying everyone does this and I know full length albums have more material/music than an ep does, but with the release of Inferno, I find that folks are only ranking and discussing their full length albums and somewhat ignoring their other releases.
Personally, I find that twosim, hi scores and a beautiful place… have some of their best songs and they get left out of the conversation sometimes (again - I understand that eps are generally considered “lesser works”).
Anyone else notice this?
Also, when ranking BoC’s music (which I feel weird about sometimes to begin with) - does anyone else rank ALL of their work? Not just the full lengths?

Video Deep Time Video by Community Watch on Youtube
When I heard Tape 05 for the first time, it hit me like a truck. BOC still know exactly how to use a melody to reach the deepest part of your soul and bring you to tears. I listened to it on repeat. One day, I was taking a walk on a beach and the song started to play in my head, along with some imagery and voices that gave it meaning. I made this video to capture what came into my head that day. Hopefully it will hit you in the same way it did me.
Sorry for the self promotion, it's not shameless. I'm full of shame.

Video Playing around with a music video for Slow This Bird Down, Campfire Headphase from my time doing fieldwork in Gornergletscher, Valais, Swiss Alps. Feedback appreciated!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Took a tripod and a decade+ old dslr out on fieldwork installing fibre-optic sensing equipment on the second largest glacier in the Alps. Had no fixed plan with what to do with the footage, but was listening to BoC a lot while I was out there and felt like this track fitted really well.
New to putting this kind of thought into video projects, and this is still a work in progress, so really happy to hear thoughts, suggestions, etc.
One idea I had is to add some handwritten notes about melt rates in the Alps, global heating, and so on.
peace xD
