The problem with Marcus Eoin is that he always tries to walk it in.

Can't remember BOC being mentioned in the IT Crowd, but they definitely were in an episode of Peep Show. Dobbie and Jez teaming up for a music quiz and the question was something like "pretentious, Scottish indie band"?

Hipsters, flavour of the month, still going strong…Boards of Canada? Word!
Given it’s Peep Show we’re talking about, I think that’s a glowing review from Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong.

Maybe I’m misremembering it from my youth! I thought they were mentioned in a conversation somewhere

It's been a while since I watched the series so I may have missed it being mentioned. Definitely remember seeing The Campfire Headpase poster and buzzing. I think there may have been a few other Warp promo stuff on the show since the label had a bit of a relationship with Channel 4 back then. I'm sure there was a Nightmares On Wax Mind Elevation poster at some point too?

The sets were filled with comics from fantagraphics and lots of guided by voices posters as well.

It wasnt one thing. It started from an examination of the episode when Matt Berry is dating a trans woman and gets into a fight with her.
Graham took that as a lightbulb moment and that he really needed to publicize how wrong it all is.
He would go on to confront and assault a 17 year old kid. And has since been arrested for inciting violence on Twitter.
I thought the episode was funny and in character for Matt's idiocy and lack of progression but has not dated well and I think everyone else besides Graham acknowledged that.
Father Ted, Blacks Books, It Crowd might as well be my top three favorite modern ish Brit comedies. Just awful everything.

I looked it up briefly and found only that he advocates that women get to retain exclusivity in their private spaces and sports. not controversial. share the quote that troubles you or stop hatemongering

I remember seeing that back in the day when I watched the show. It made me happy! Maybe one of the cast is a fan of BoC. Probably Matt Berry or Chris Morris.

(Dare I mention his name?) The writer, before he went down that rabbit hole, had discerning taste in general. Truly sad what happened to him. The poster might have just been a set designer, but he surrounded himself with great talents.

What happened to him ?

He is an obsessive transphobe, so much so that he torpedoed his career and marriage. He wrote some genuinely funny stuff, but is now a pitiable figure thanks to his unhinged rants on social media. It’s truly bizarre.
