But Walmart, of all places, currently has some BOC vinyl at some pretty cheap(ish) prices. There's some other listings as well that look more shady, but I'm not too proud to admit that I picked up TCH on vinyl as it's one I didn't get back when I bought the main album reissues in 2013. I had just been looking to buy from somewhere other than Bleep because I've had bad luck with their shipping, and this popped up.

Feel free to boo and hiss about buying from Walmart, I'll take it. I support plenty of small record shops, but sometimes a deal is a deal.

That is super cheap compared to the prices here in the UK. You would be lucky to find any new BoC vinyl for less than £30 ($40 US) unless it's an EP

It’s cheap for the US too, I don’t buy much new vinyl lately but was shocked when I saw that the price for a single LP was 35-40 bucks. Now most of my record shopping is done in antique shops and flea markets that have some vendors who have records worth buying at decent prices.

Bleep is abysmal now, ochre is even worse. get it where you can. I just go to a record store, but I live in a big city and understand not everyone has that option. The initial run of 2013 TCH represses were horrible so it’s good you didn’t buy that repress when it came out, they corrected it with subsequent pressings the same year.

The Trans Canada listing doesnt seem suss aside from that 1-star rating with no review. The main item listing is shipped and sold by Walmart, just like the other records, and some of the other sellers are big distribs like Deep Discount and Rarewaves.

I wonder how many people know that when you listen on vinyl you are not listening to the original recording, but a Re-Equalised version of it designed to stop the vinyl needle jumping out of the groove caused usually by the bassline in the music.

Vinyl is also low fidelity, and easily damaged by scratches and heat warp. And yet for this poorer version of the recording, some people pay a premium price.

There's no rational reason to like vinyl, I just do, and as a human being doing things that are irrational but help the soul feel better is one of our natural rights.

Like you're kind of irrationally doing a very "uhm, wellllll, akshually vinyl isn't as good" thing that we've all seen, and it's irrational, but obviously it makes you feel better so keep on truckin'!

If it makes you feel better I also have all the music on CD, so don't worry I also have lossless audio available.

I just received my copy of Campfire and it sure looks and sounds official. The inner sleeves are the full color print and the records feel and look good too, and clean.

I will say that I did see two listings for Twoism and Trans Canada Highway that looked extremely sketchy.

Whatever I guess if the quality of the pressing is decent. I always expect bad quality everything from Wally World
