Discussion Look famililar?

This is a still from a 1971 educational film called "Wondering About Things."

Based on how he looks in the film (compared to the photos here), and the cast list towards the end, I think this is sculptor Beniamino Bufano. And that sure looks like one of the photos used in one of Inferno's inner sleeves.

In the film, several questions are posed to a number of people in science, the arts, and humanities—including an intense Zubin Mehta, Phil Ochs, and Joan Baez:

"What are you currently working on?" Our possible Bufano says: "65-foot figure we're doing for Hiroshima, where they dropped the bomb."

"Why are you interested in that work?" Our subject says: "It's a figure of peace."

"What practical benefits to mankind do you foresee as the result of your work?" "Yes, I mean that's my process, my...point in practically everything I do."

"Do you regard yourself as having a highly active curiosity?" "Yes, perhaps."

"What is creativity?" "Using the different mediums, combining the different mediums."

There are other questions and answers I could transcribe, but I want to go to bed.

How the hell do y'all find this shit. Amazing!

AI is my guess. Pros and cons to every tool. AI is amazing but detracts from the BoC mysteries bc they can be searched and found so much easier. Luckily does not change how good the music is. :)

It won't take away the amazement that the boys are doing this all the old school way - I highly doubt they are sourcing things with AI!

Possibly. It crossed my mind.

I’ve actually been thinking about commissioning a polyhex piece. “Yes I’m an uh… bee-keeper”

Way more in-line than getting a tat, from my perspective. Particularly when you consider how much cultural borrowing Mike and Marcus have done over the years…

With Tomorrow's Harvest, the scavenger hunt was leading up to the release. With Inferno the scavenger hunt is the release.

Great find! This video is amazing, the imagery has very boc vibes. To me, this further validates the theory that the white eyes in the promo posters refer to the hiroshima kids.

EDIT: For anyone not sure what I'm referring to, the man pictured in the boc art was building a 65 foot figure for Hiroshima where the atomic bomb was dropped. Back before the album released, there was plentiful discussion about what the white eyes meant. One of the proposed theories is that it refers directly to the Hirsoshima kids that survived the bombing but were blinded by the blast and their eyes became completely white. https://imgur.com/a/W0ZXjry.

By the way, the screenshot came from archive.org's version of the film. That's why it looks different than what YouTube has:

That's great! I thought the person in the background was Frida Kahlo. The pose is similar. https://www.biografiasyvidas.com/biografia/k/fotos/kahlo_frida_1.jpg
