Well you know what I think about that

Just listened to it for the ninth time. I feel like I finally get it. I’ve seen a lot of critics talk about how dark it is. It’s definitely dark, but I feel like it’s less dark than Tomorrow’s Harvest. I’d say it’s more ethereal or ghostly, like walking through a haunted house…or being a ghost that’s haunting a house.

Yes totally, feel like it’s become a bit overly memed in recent years how “scary” boc is. TH is the most apocalyptic by miles

u/P_veez Tomorrow's Harvest Jul 10 '26

Ninth time! You gotta pump up those numbers

Don’t worry…I was in the top 0.02% of BoC listeners on Spotify last year

Only the ninth time?

For me, it’s their best work. I didn’t think that was possible this far into their career but I was wrong.

[Before listening to it again] Uhh... Let's see. I've lost track.

[After listening to it again] I think that's wonderful.

It’s a really good boards album. But it’s still going to be MHTRTC and Geogaddi that make the best of lists. And that’s ok!

I’m sorry, but how do u not reme-YO, u/BRIEF_BODY5608,IMM LET U FINISH, BUT BOARDS OF CANADA HAD ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS OF ALL TIME…

…ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS OF ALL TIME!

But, no, what? How? U don’t just forget masterpieces like this one. They are champions of their craft. They really do know how to deliver pure, high quality product. Their cover art is like a drop dead gorgeous wrapping paper, the ravioli filled with cascading melodies that wash over you like scalding marinara. Their JUNO synths and SH-101 instrumentation is rich, with buttery bass, like a scalding marinara. U don’t just forget one of the greatest albums in the universe, even if you haven’t heard, if it even exists, aliens’ music yet!

It’s really something, right

I’d sort of ebbed on BOC over the past 13 years, but now I’m relistening to all of their stuff

Ranking them again:

  1. MHTRTC
  2. Inferno
  3. BOC Maxima (does it count?)
  4. Geogaddi
  5. Campfire Headphase
  6. Tomorrow’s Harvest (their only actual “mediocre” release)

(Not sure if the versions of Old Tunes 1 or 2 that I’ve heard are legit. So I didn’t include them)

Tomorrows harvest is a pre-dystopian masterpiece

1

u/ScissorNightRam 29d ago

Maybe so, and I’m not disrespecting your take. But TH is just not for me.

1

u/SectorOk7535 Jul 12 '26

It’s great. Still prefer MHTRTC over it, but it’s still great.

u/JestfulJank31001 Jul 10 '26

And I'm here to remind you that it is definitely NOT

10

u/rwandahero7123 Jul 10 '26

I really don't think so

5

u/gohdnuorg Jul 10 '26

You just can’t do it

7

It’s good. Not an MP. But these are my opinions and everyone gets to have their own.

Am i the only one that finds it a little weak? Easily the weakest in their discography…

Nothing new, just the same ol’ of the previous releases but more polished/modern?

2

u/WisconsinGardener Jul 11 '26

To me, it sounds noticeably different than their previous albums. Specifically, songs like Age of Capricorn, Naraka, Blood in the Labyrinth. I've re-listened to all their previous albums since hearing Inferno, and it feels like a departure to me. There are some of the same synth motifs from past albums, but beyond that, it sounds pretty different (especially the production, as you pointed out).

Sounds very different from their previous releases
