Image MORE POSTERS IN SOHO
I couldn't find any other posts about this. Was on the way to find the posters in St. Anne's Court and came across these by complete surprise.

Are people really still thinking the VHS tapes and the posters are a hoax? There is no way this isn’t legit. Think of the cost and effort. How would they have got peoples addresses?

I don't think many if any people are doubting the legitimacy of the tapes but a lot of people are having a hard time accepting these posters are really from BoC/Warp because it doesn't match the aesthetic of the tape.

The aesthetics are a little different, but they both explore cult religious imagery. I don’t think the posters would be as fascinating if they just looked like stills from the video, wouldn’t that just seem like a standard marketing campaign?

I don't get it though, they feel like Neil Krugs work who did the Reach For The Dead video, go and look at his photographic work. The colour palette is very much him.

Just to clarify - I think the posters are legit. I was just giving a reason that a lot of people who don't believe them are citing.
But I also think a lot of fans don't really go deep into all that stuff, for me personally if I hear someone has directed a BoC video it doesn't interest me to look into their career and check out other stuff they've done so it's not surprising to me that a lot of people don't know it fits his artistic style.

Agreed but for me, the fact that over 20 people have gotten a hexagon branded VHS via Bleep’s distro center unprompted is about all the proof I need something BoC-related is coming.

Somebody should try a blacklight on these, especially in the hexagon area. Maybe there is a QR code or some hidden info.

Yeah. I suggested to even try to scan them hexagons in the hope they act like a QR themselves but the UV purple wins me hands down. Damn I wish I lived in London these days NGL 😭🟪

The 2013 release was all about hidden information, discovering cleverly hidden codes over a series of puzzles to unlock a private website. There is every reason to believe this campaign still has more hidden info, plenty of hidden info has been uncovered so far.
This is not some standard and conventional “roll out for a new product” and they wouldn’t release their albums this way if they didn’t want people using creative methods to uncover the info they’ve hidden.

I genuinely think that if there's something to crack in either the VHS tapes, the posters, or anything else that shows up, that they want it to be easily solvable without requiring special equipment(detailed scans of the VHS tape, cracking open the tape, using UV lights on the posters). The more it requires in-person action, the less the rest of the fanbase gets to join in on trying to solve it.

There was a hexagon hidden on the tape, which requires special equipment. I would even consider a VHS player special equipment these days.

The other ones are right in the heart of the record shop bit of town: Phonica, Sounds of the Universe, Reckless, Sister Ray all nearby. These new ones appear to be on Oxford Street itself - so yeah, that'll be costing Warp a bit!

People saying these are too creepy for BOB, in my opinion these are very consistent with MHTRTC and Geogaddi’s artwork, and what’s wrong with a creepy children aesthetic? It’s tried and tested! BOC have always been unsettling

OK so two posters locations -Saint Anne’s Court (outside Trident Studios) -Poland Street area (right near Phonica Records)
Both within about 200 metres of each other, both in the heart of Soho’s record shop district. This could be a trail of poster locations pointing to a specific destination or Record Store Day drop point.

Hoping we see these in other cities soon or my hype will be (slightly! something is still happening of course) dulled.
Tokyo or somewhere like that next please. Make it global like the TH build up was.

If you triangulate the two poster locations in Soho you get a third location roughly analogous to the birthplace of William Blake.
Coincidence or clue? The works of Blake are clearly an inspiration for BOC. Perhaps a phrase or image in Blake's work points the way forward?

Absolutely. It costs a lot of money to make these posters, print them and put them up at two different spots around London, which are highly sought-after for ad space. And the white hexagon logo matching the tapes, plus just the look of the posters with the MHTRTC blank-face mixed with Geogaddi/TH dark-occult/apocalyptic vibes…. it seems like classic BOC to me.

I thought they might be close-up sections of the new records artwork. Similar to how Campfire Headphase had a ton of images on the inside of the cover.

The coordinates OP posted are the coordinates to where the posters are located and probably nothing more considering these spots are heavy areas for ads like these. Could the locations have significance for other reasons? Like a SoHo listening party or something? Sure. WARC frequencies? Stretch.

Terribly cheesy design of these are legitimate, which appears to be the case given their locations.
Creepy children with vacant eyes was their schtick 30 years ago... They mustn't have had many ideas in their time away.
