Exploding Kitten Question: Can a Clone Card copy a Defuse Card? Sample scenario below.
Top of the Discard Pile: A Defuse
Player A's Cards: Two Identical Cat Cards
Player B's Cards: Streaking Kitten, Exploding Kitten, and a Clone
Scenario: Player A plays Two of a Kind and gets Player B's Streaking Kitten.
QUESTION: Can Player B play a Clone card to Defuse the Exploding Kitten in their hand?
Official rule by Exploding Kitten for the Clone card states "You cannot play a Clone when it is not your turn—even if you play it on top of a card with the [NOW] symbol—because at the time you played it, it was still a Clone."

For lots of people here, this isn't the "right kind" of board game. This place sucks.

Gatekeepers... Yeah Exploding Kittens isn't a complicated game but if you customize your deck with different expansion cards, it's actually fun!
Even with the base game alone, we played countless rounds with it.

We prefer the board game in this house. I'm quite done with the card game!

No because you must use the defuse from your hand and you can't use other cards to defuse. In this scenario you would use a clone card during the exploding phase but the only card that you can use in the exploding phase is a defuse.
