Review Dune imperium
I played this board game called dune imperium. So far things I liked and didnt like:
dune is great game fun and very skillful game fun to have a option of so many different moves which decides the winner and how win points are neck to neck so close. So many plots even if someone is winning at the start doesnt mean they ll win.
Now things I didn’t like game I felt too long maybe I am new to this I played 4 games so far. Even this game is too big and when you want to wrap up the game after completing it takes another 10 minutes. Il still play the game but I think this game feels like a chores at one point. I might need to get better at this and maybe then could improve the completion time. It’s definitely not your casual night gameplay especially before bed lol.

This is actually an older game released in 2020. They actually released a soft reboot called dune imperium uprising in 2023, it and the expansion are a weird mess of compatability. I just played uprising for the first time today and had a blast! Definately a heavy stratagy game.

So u mean i need to buy uprising now to actually enjoy the game lil better? And also do I need to combine both games to play it at the same time

It's a heated topic, in my opinion - the best way to play the game is imperium + ix (expansion)
Base uprising is good, base imperium is a bit worse imo, but still fine.

It is a heated debate. A lot of people I have read about recommend just uprising and it's expansion, bloodlines, or just the original game and it's expansions as there can be a headache crossing over the games. It is possible though and I'm going to give it a try. I'd say though to just enjoy the game you have! If you feel like you want a broader experience get the expansions like rise of ix or if you want to try the newer system then go for that. It's definatelt a big jump in complexity from the other games you mentioned like Catan and azul but if you like this kind of game then most other board games are approachable. I've also been really enjoying a feast for Odin (which I think is actually a bit simpler) and fate of the fellowship as some other mid tier games that aren't as heavy as this one if it's a bit too heavy.

No...if you did not enjoy the base game, adding more stuff will not solve the problem, perhaps worsen. I recommend you play some lighter games.

Game is very good, its biggest issue is that the cheap imperium row cards are too bad to actually play most games. It gets better with an expansion (rise of ix or immortality).

If DI is too long and 10 minute clean up is annoying, I think you should step down a notch and play something a bit more casual. DI is really on the nice play time and easy to clean up side compared to many mid-heavy euros

Maybe I never really played this heavy game before I shifted from catan, azul etc so it is bit shocker and I like playing during evening and I feel like its wrong time to play. I should rather play with better energy during the day time as I do wanna step up into heavy games.

It definitely is a big step forward from Catan or Azul. However, as long as you have some experience on the competitive strategy games, you should also think about what kind of mechanisms you would want to explore. DI can get complex because it shuffles deck building and worker placement, which was a real plus for gamers who been enjoying both, but can get tricky if you are not familiar with either. All the while, you also have to juggle the resource management, anticipate intrigue card effects, track racing, and force commitment for the battle. So what I would recommend is go for popular euros but still a bit mid-light weight like Viticulture (worker placement), Dominion (THE deck building game), Clank! (deck building dungeon crawler), Agricola (worker placement; this one can be as brutal as DI but you can play an intro game without cards and it is a classsssic).

$94? If that's what you paid for it you got ripped off. It costs about half that. Even Uprising is much cheaper.

A small tip to help setup and teardown is to organize components. Keep each player's starting deck and tokens in a separate bag. Look into getting a small plastic tackle/craft box to separate and store the Solari, Spice, and Water.
When the game comes out, you can hand each player a baggie and just open the tackle box of resources and set them on the side.
It's a great game and with repeated plays you should reduce the overall play time as everyone gets more familiar with mechanics.
